Same reason why they try to block his step back three. Because no matter how ridiculously hard a shot looks, if James is taking it there is there is a chance it will go in.

 

I am gonna say that the Harden - Russ bromance may reach Francis - Cat levels if not higher just based on these first two preseason games.

 

A seriously doubt there is a coach in the league that would agree with trying to block it, esp until Harden proves he can make it. There’s going to be a lot of coach face-palming watching their defenders.

Then, it will become an epidemic and #NBATwitter will scream at the fouls and ESPN will do an article that Harden is only doing that new move to draw fouls...sigh.

And all along Harden was just trying to develop a new shot to secure separation to avoid the foul drama of GSW Game 1.

I really don't see him using this more than once or twice a game. It's more of putting in the defender's head the threat that he is capable of doing so when he starts drifting in that direction.

 

He may not be, that's why I said "Morey should work the phones", to establish his value. I really like Clemons but it's going to be hard to find minutes for him this season. Maybe a package of House and Clemons nets us something, may not necessarily be a 2nd rounder. There's millions of trade combinations across the league, maybe one makes sense, maybe not.

at worst this is a nice distraction and a fun thing to do, its also a great marketing/propaganda tool , its funny that even ppl who hate this move would stand in awe if it happens that harden hits it sometimes

 

great idea but i think it will be a plenty of opportunity to play him...although we dont like the notion of it, injuries happen every single year..cant remember a year where we werent forced to play low quality guard serious minutes..now with him it seems it wont be the case

I wouldn't be surprised if he leapfrogged Rivers in the rotation.

 

It isn't going unnoticed that Westbrook and Gerald Green are getting pretty chummy too!
