mcw doesn't have a specific position. hes just a player the rockets are forced to play atm as a fill in in some sort of way. but he shouldnt be part of the rotation and I dont expect him to be as the season progresses.

The problem is when Clint sits, we put Carmelo at 5.

Talk about playing a guy out of position, he's not going to get down and dirty, take elbows and arms, hustle, for boards. He's not going to do it. If you had 23 year old Melo he still wouldn't do it.

Last year we would play Nene, Tarik Black, Even Ryno who has more experience being a big.

We should first of all, never play Melo at Center. Ever. It's not worth it to stretch the floor. We just have to trust Hartenstein or Chriss, as bad as it is, until buyout season, that's what we have to do.

Chriss is hurt but I think he'll get more PT just because of experience I think. Hartenstein hustled but he made a lot of mistakes.

He's definitely going to make mistakes but the difference is that Chriss actually has played NBA games and has some experience and is able to sometimes contest shots and not allow teams to just basically get uncontested rebounds.

Hartenstein does not have experience, he didn't really give us anything tonight. I'm sure he'll get another shot against Utah though. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

I'm not saying he's going to fix all of our issues but we need big bodies to hold the fort down when Nene can't play and until buyout season.

Man if he looks that trash in the pre season, than there is no MDA is going to play him, hes too much of a net negative on the floor.

He still looked better than Chriss in pre season.

He may play, ill haply eat crow if Im wrong, but I doubt I will be.

Preseason is preseason. MCW looked 10x better in preseason, Hartenstein came in there and was abused on defense, making questionable decisions, and looking lost. Hartenstein tonight was a net negative.

Figure this, he played 9 mins tonight and people thought he lost the team the game.

His advanced stats for this game say he negatively affected the game. At that point, you put in the next guy and see if he can play better.

What I'm saying is that if he looked THAT bad in pre season, he's gonnna eaten alive in the actual games. I know Haretenstein looks bad and we dont have time for him, I'm just saying Chriss is even worse.

I haven't been able to watch the games, but I'm wondering what's affecting Capela's rebounding numbers.

Guys like Ariza and Luc were good at boxing out the opponents and making it easier for their teammates to nab the rebound. Maybe some of that's gone now?

Or does it really have to do with conditioning problems or lower intensity after signing the big contract, as some have argued? God, I hope not.

I can't see anyone except maybe PJ boxing out consistantly. Last year team was a good rebounding team and more balance. Even Ryno had some good rebounding games. This year guys are just standing around. Lack of hustle kills the Rockets.

We dun have a proper PF to help from the weak side and help him at all. It's not a One Man Rim Protection game.

Even a Montrezl Harrell would help out.

Just an uninspired, mediocre effort from the squad tonight. This team has some major issues on the defense end that don't appear on their way to be getting resolved over the last couple of games. Coaching staff looks clueless on that end without Bzdelik.

    Offense looks alright I guess.

This game went pretty much as I expected on the second night of a B2B without Chris Paul. (I am expecting a loss to Utah as well).

Painful to watch the team getting out rebounded.

All of those missed 50/50 rebounds......every time the Rockets miss on those.....you can't help but wonder if Ariza or Moute would have got them.

I think we can see that

    1) Ariza is stronger than Ennis. It is a small thing, but important. Something I didn't know going in but it is becoming apparent.

    2) Ariza "tracks the ball" better than Ennis. Some players are better than others at doing this. It is how they get those 50/50 balls.

Also, in terms of rebounding the Rockets really missed CP3 in this Clippers game. He is another player that does a good job at "tracking balls" to get them. Very underrated in this aspect.
