come on let's be realistic. This is the equivalent of a baseball manager deciding his outfielder who lost his job and now DH's is all of a sudden going to play left field and bat clean up for a month because they want to showcase him. That's just crazy talk.

what you're seeing is simply a team growing, and everyone buying in.

no, the system hasn't changed. no, mchale hasn't changed and given more of a pg role to jeremy. you have to understand, the coaches, at least on offense, let the players play. in this system, it's not up to the coaches to figure things out on the court; it's up to the players. and that takes time. it takes time to figure out how to react to certain situations, as a TEAM. it's up to jeremy to take the initiative to control the ball. it's up to his teammates to let him make plays and create for them. it's up them to run with him when he pushes the ball. it takes all 5 to buy in in order for this read and react system to work. all 5 have to read the same thing and react the same way.

these players aren't robots. they won't do something just because you ask them to. most cases, players revert back to what they're comfortable with, especially in crunch time, and it takes time to break that habit, and trust in a system and your teammates. you're seeing a bit of that now.

no, not every game will be like this, and every situation is different. we will see a lot more crappy games from lin and the team. let's just hope it's two steps forward and one step back, rather than the other way around.

and for those complaining about lin's inconsistency? you guys are crazy. no one can play like this consistently with this type of efficiency. not harden, not cp3. no one. let's just hope that as lin matures as a player, we will see this type of games a little more often. if he can play like this one of every 4 games (with the other three being merely average), he's a top 10 pg, hands down, with top 5 within reach.

Pretty much spot on there. McHale would rather his PG do nothing than try to make a play and possibly make a mistake. Perhaps against these relatively scrub teams in the East it doesnt bother him as much.

This is exactly what McHale asked Dragic and Lowry to do.

He had his best seasons with the unremarkable but very solid Dennis Johnson. DJ was a very good defender too. Arguably uglier that Sam Cassell.

How is it crazy talk? Being traded is always a possibility in the NBA. The NBA is a business and the goal is a championship. If Morey can make a trade to upgrade, he'll do it. And Lin never lost the starting job, McHale and his coaching staff believe that Bev-Harden backcourt has its positives and Lin as the 6th man also has its advantages. Like I said, I don't want it to happen, but it's always a possibility.

I don't agree with this because I've seen McHale coach in Minnesota without Sampson.

And if that's the case, TJ would have got alot more playing time last year because Sampson played him when he was coaching early in the season and McHale didn't until the season was almost over.

Which team were you watching? during McHale's 1st year with us? PGs thrived under the "McHale" system. He basically gave them the green light to do PnR all over the place. Maybe for him, the PnR is the best way to create mismatches.

Of course, his only instruction when Lowry and Dragic struggled was "just turn the corner harder" and "play with more effort."

But if the PG had skills, his numbers would be inflated under McHale.

Long season. Too many games to nitpick about everyone. Wins are welcomed no matter how they come. Especially when they are missing Beverley and Asik _ with that bench they have.

Speaking of Asik, does anyone have any news on his injury? Really hoping he buys into the team concept, but read that article about his agent trying to get trades for both Asik and D-Mo.

I'd be shocked if he plays another game for us. I'm basically operating as though he isn't on the team anymore... it's easier that way, sadly.

:/. That dude gave it his all last year for this team. Really liked him too, but too bad he can't buy into the team concept. He'd be hecka useful in certain match ups too.

Casspi played 23 min shooting 4-9 and 3-5 from 3pt. He had 6 rebounds and 3 assists ending up with 12 points. More than that he was the main reason for the Rockets to come back from a really slow start.

Are you Lakers fans or did you watch some other game? Casspi plays number 18. Boston does not have that number on the roster so he should be easy to recognize. I find it difficult to blame you for understanding BB.

Yeah bad game to rag on Casspi, he was actually hitting his three's. He's only 25 and very cheep, if you cant find an upgrade for similar money you might as well keep him. His shot is only average but he hustles and brings a bit of energy off the bench.
