I'm guessing he likes to give the #1 Options big minutes? I think Ariza can handle it though. He's a young, professional ball player. He trains and work out to handle big minutes.

That's part of the reason. He is not a 40 minute man,and that is not a knock on him. He feels the pressure of big expectations too. Our guys are solid role players, but it's entirely different when you have Kobe on the court with you.

We needed Yao Ming.
Not Tracy McGrady.

All the more so when one considers that we lost Game 7 because the Lakers big men woke up and finally realized "Hey, we might lose this series" and than proceeded to manhandle us. That wouldn't have happened with Yao, but it would have happened with T-Mac.

Rockets became unpredictable once Yao went out and that was why the Lakers had trouble with us. Remember with Yao we were down 2 games to 1...

i agree. i kept saying this before.

the lakers series went 7 games because the rockets became unpredictable. with yao in the game, the lakers knew that he'd be the focal point of the offense. but when he got injured, the lakers would have expected artest to take on the offensive load but instead it was brooks and the others.

but of course by game 7, the lakers figured the rockets out.

They're trying to make Ariza so sick and tired of playing that he retaliates and wants to be benched. That way, they can fill his spot with T-mac and everyone will be happy. Win-win situation for all! Yippee!

Thanks for ya'lls help, I hope Ariza gets some good rest, so he can be effective against the Hornets, and especially the Mavericks

Forgot to add, I don't know how anyone could play 40 minutes on back to backs and not be exhausted, hopefully Ariza's minutes can come down a little, I'm thinking maybe when Chase comes back, they will. I miss Chase

But for some reason Adelman think he can't find more minutes for T-Mac, But think he play Ariza every minute of every game. He going to exhausted him just like he did his first year play Yao so many minutes.

I hope Chase get back soon because Taylor is not cutting it. We need some shooting fron the wing position soon. unless they figure it out what to do with T-Mac.

Here is the latest batch of Magic Numbers after all games were played on December 28.

Not a good night for Red Nation, but I wasn't surprised. This team is flat out exhausted, and they were traveling to Cleveland to face a well-rested, good home team in the Cavs. The results were completely expected.

Good news is that it wasn't a conference loss, and the schedule will get better soon. And we'll get Budinger back. And the Tmac drama will eventually end...

how could anyone who actually watched the series think that the Lakers weren't in meltdown mode starting with game 1 of the series. kobe kneeing and elbowing dudes, luke walton crying, fisher basically tackling Scola, phil jackson b****ing, stern working (the refs) etc. if you're under the impression that the Lakers "big men" "woke up game 7" you didn't watch that series

rong.

by your logic the lakers won 4-3 without yao and 2-1 without yao so what was your point again?

1) the Rockets weren't suddenly unpredictable because Yao got hurt. Phil Jackson simply couldn't make adjustments to Adelman the entire series. Even when Yao started games, Landry was dropping 21 on the Lakers. Your contention that somehow without Yao the Rockets got an edge via unpredictability is wrong. Jackson couldn't make adjustments for the 2nd unit of lowry, landry, chuck hayes and wafer the entire series regardless of yao. and the games yao was healthy he owned the lakers frontcourt

2) if you actually watched the series, game 2 was lost due to joey crawford techs and a key 4th quarter momentum change and Yao was hurt game 3 and was noticeably nonproductive the entire 2nd half. if you want to be technical about it, even throwing out the officiating in game 2 the record with yao was more fairly 1-1, and the rockets should have sat yao game 3 instead of having him limping up and down the court for 3 quarters (which actually helped the lakers win game 3)

It's almost 2010. Get over it. That was then this is now. We were the champs a decade and a half ago. What does this have to do with now??????????

The thread you are talking about was intially debating whether or not Yao was a factor in the win/loss of the Lakers/Rockets playoff series and whether or not he'll be an asset or liability to the team when he returns.
