Back-to-back but everybody but Harden played serious minutes, i.e. must win!

Oh you're right! Last February... So I've watched Irving play before and obviously he didn't leave an impression...lol... but I heard he's the real deal now. Would be an interesting match up. Both teams played last night.

I just remembered -- isn't Livingston on this team now? Maybe he'll have something to prove against the Rockets. :)

Irving's going to eat Lin and then TD alive

Thankfully, the team around him isn't that good so it should be a blowout regardless of Kyrie's numbers.

Actually, I feel as if Lin will do as good a defensive job as you can against Irving. Kyrie's jumper, driving ability, and handles are all incredible, so pressuring him with energized defense isn't effective. However, Lin's defensive prowess is due to his smart defensive principles, which should in theory lessen Irving's impact...or at least make him work harder. I'm worried about Douglas though - Kyrie seems like the kind of guard that can light TD up :(

The only other thing I worry about is the fact that they're 7th in opponent TOs. We need to take care of the ball well and not make lazy passes.

Taking all that into consideration, we should still win with relative ease.

I was gonna say he was on the Wizards but apparently they cut him. Cut from the Wizards, that's pretty low.

Preview of the game from Cavaliers website

    Key to the Game

    Defending the Pick-and-Roll

Defending the pick-and-roll is vital in any NBA game, but Houston's Jeremy Lin and James Harden are two of the best when it comes to running that particular offensive set.

Not only does their decision making off the pick-and-roll produce scoring opportunities for themselves, but it also creates open looks for their teammates. This lethal combination has allowed Houston to become the league's top scoring team at 106.6 points per game.

The Wine and Gold will have to really dig in tonight on the defensive end and it all starts with defending the pick-and-roll.

Lol, it seems in every game thread the rox are gonna lose (trap game) and Lin will be eaten alive by opposing PGs.

It's a tradition now. No game thread would be complete without these two proclamations.

He'll prove that the only way he can stop James Harden is by fouling him.

It is difficult to see how this tradition will ever end now. If the LOF's/LOH's can't stop from pushing each other's buttons each thread, there is no way that someone won't post this every game. :)

Glad we got this out of the way so I can now just enjoy the rest of the thread.
