    If Kevin Martin is out for the flu than who starts? Lee is still out, too. Do we start Lowry at PG and Dragic at SG? Budinger or Twill might be able to play SG.

    Kevin Martin misses shootaround with flu-like symptoms. Game-time decision. If he's out, Goran Dragic will start at 2 vs. Bobs. Lee out.

    I think we're going to stomp them hard.

    I'm a tanker, but I've suspended my advocacy so that I can just enjoy the season. Unfortunately, I'd enjoy these first dozen games better if I rooted for losses. But, I'm giving Morey space to do his thing even if I think it's the wrong approach. I'm rooting for wins until the trade deadline, at least.

    I want the draft pick, but I'm not rooting for the Rockets to lose. I want to see the front office moves align with that thinking... young, develop, build through draft and trade (right now I think the Rockets are limiting themselves to trade). Anyhow, it's early -- I pull for the team on the floor... but I would do that if there was something to lose for down the stretch (cough).

    Certainly hope so ... I don't want to say "must-win" this early, but you lose here, you are off to the tail end of a back-to-back against a 6-3 Spurs team on the road and are staring down the barrel of a 2-8 start on a 66-game season.

    Lowry > Augustin
    Dragic < Henderson
    Parsons < Magette
    Scola > DJ White
    Dalembert = Diaw?

    Okay guys. I'm saying it here. Today will be the start of the season's turnaround. It's on the record. Rockets will go 9-2 over their next 11 games. Book it. There are only 3 games that won't be sure wins (2 Spurs and Portland) every other game is a game that we can and should win. And if you look at our schedule after those 11 games, it stays relatively manageable. We could ride some momentum if we do well during this upcoming stretch. And it starts with our first game against an easy team:

    Los Bobgatos

    With Lowry and K-Mart, Rockets should win. Without K-Mart, it could be tough. I want to see the guys playing hard for McHale and act like they care about defense.

    1. I think this is a critical game. A lot of the early record (though not some of the dispirited play) can be blamed on the strengh of schedule. However, too much losing, even in tough games against good teams, can lead to bad losing habits that cause you to lose even to cupcake teams. I hope the Rockets have not fallen into the bad habits.

    2. Keep an eye on Boris Diaw. He's the tub of lard wearing #32 for the Bobcats. He is also the player that the Rockets need to fill the hole left by Chuck Hayes. Good passer, decent shooter, and better defender than you might think. I really hope Morey manages to trade Jordan Hill and an expiring contract for him. The Bobcats might be happy to part with him for not too much given that his contract is also expiring and they are clearly tanking.

    The issue with no KMart isn't the lack of KMart, it's the fact that Jonny Flynn will play more minutes.
