Don't worry brandon roy has the flu. Let's hope he is not MJ and still drop like 40 pts or something.

    Obstacles to overcome tonight:

    1. Emotion - "win or go home" attitude will permeate the players, coaches, fans, and especially the refs. The noise will be tremendous! We need to weather that storm and win the 1Q, or be very close. If Rockets can stick to the game plan, find and take good shots, continue to lock down on defense including contesting every rebound, we can overcome that obstacle.

    2. Portland coaching staff, players, fans, and media have "cried wolf" so loudly that the refs will (even if only sub-consicously) be affected at the beginning. If we can keep our cool, I think the officiating crew will begin to balance out the calls.

As the game moves along, assuming we are leading or are very close, I think the Blazers youth and inexperience will start to erode their ability and their confidence to win the game. If we can get a 10+ lead by the end of the 3rd, I think they will fold up their tents and start to panic. The Blazers will start to rain 3s on us; we must keep them contained!

I am predicting a blowout win 106-88, a similar one to Game 1.

With Yao gets more unpredictable in positioning himself on court, they find that fronting Yao is no more effective and so they go back to their strategy in Game 1, and thus gets blown out again.

Does anyone know if there's going to be a viewing party at Toyota Center again? Or anywhere else??

BTW, why haven't we doubled/trapped Roy with Artest/Battier? If I had the ball I would hate to see both of those guys coming at me at the same time.

I believe the viewing party is going to be at the House of Blues tonight.

That's a very good crew. Dan Crawford is one of the best, always getting a questionable call correct. But he did blow that shot clock violation on Finley on that Kings/Spurs game at the end of the season...that was huge.

    Yao, take care the reb.
Ron, select your jumpers. Less lay ups.
Brooks, take more 3 shots, design some O for him on 4th q.
    Shane, like always.
Scola, hit the mid-range, control you foul.

I don't think the Rockets are mature enough to win a game like this. I suspect the Rockets will ease off the gas pedal a little.

Human nature wins and so does Portland, 108-99.

The only acceptable way of losing this one is in a blow-out. I don't want the Rockets to lose a close game. If we are to lose, we need to make sure it's a loss that forces the Rockets to get back to playing like game 1. They need to regroup and be serious about it.

    No close losses.
