Without Matthews, Portland is not as great as they used to be overall especially defensively. Harden needs to beast mode.

Would make my day to see the Rockets blow out Portland

    But a win will suffice

Harden needs another MVP performance here.

I don't mind. The Rockets just finished 5 games in 7 days(aside from Harden). Plus Portland is off 3 days themselves, so both teams will be equally rested(and possibly rusty).

As for the game itself, aside from the Memphis one, it's the biggest of the year thus far. It's not a must-win for the 3rd seed since Portland does still have a brutal schedule the rest of the way. But winning would sure go a long way towards locking up a top 3 spot in the West(and possibly the MVP for Harden).

A win against Portland will increase our confidence level in the playoffs.

Go Rockets! Give it your all!

Harden goes for 43. Rockets win 103-94. Book it.

Wes was their primary Harden stopper.. it's nice we don't have to deal with him the rest of the season or the playoffs.

Considering the "5 games in 7 days" stretch we just had, I like the time off. According to Feigen, they flew to Portland on Sunday, so they would have practice time to get ready for the game.

These are the defining games for an MVP candidate. Harden's gotta show up.

I wholeheartedly agree. Portland is still as good as they were last year yet still the Rockets gave away two of three games there last year in the playoffs.

This isn't about a Harden MVP as much as it is an opportunity for Bev and Jones to have good games and help get the Rockets a win.

The supporting cast is the key. In the loss at Toyota Center, the Blazers' bench badly outplayed ours. That can't happen again.
