Omri Casspi NEEDS to be a starter. Starting 5: Howard, Parsons, Casspi, Lin and Harden! Unbeatable!

Thats just one example. I seen him play here and like I stated before he couldnt go left to save his life. You force him left and he picks up his dribble. He goes right and he keeps his dribble alive. Even the commentators have said that known fact

I am not hating because I dont get involve with that foolery. Im just stating my observation. The young man can ball, that is why he is in the NBA and our starting PG. When jokers talk sh** about the dude, I tell them all the time, " I bet you cant stop him".

I never heard that speculation ever. Lin is around 17th not top 10. Can he be a top 10 PG, why sure he can. After the all star break dudes game pick up tremendously on both sides of the ball. So I'm expecting a really good year for Lin.

I dont ever go off of one game let alone 10 games. And dont ever put words in my mouth because I never said any of his games were flukes. Dude balled his ass off in New York. And played pretty good here. He has his flaws just like every other NBA player.

It is because of the offensive spacing.

Well pimpn let them hate then and ignore them. Real talk. Yes I know that sh** gets annoying. Ive seen Lin fans blast Harden because fans were talking bad about Lin and vice verse. I was on the Chronicle sports forum and one cat would blast off on Harden everyday. So in feel ya.

At the end of the season I deleted my entire Ignore list (got the idea from someone who did that last season - forget who.) As we head towards a new season I've been slowly building it back up with some of the real hardcore cases - full time trolls and haters. Thanks Raskol for flushing Karolik out of the weeds where he's been lurking over the summer. He's a worthy addition to anyone's Ignore list.

Why would you waste all that hard work by deleting your Ignore List?

Much of the early LOF/LOH nonsense was starting to die down by the end of the year as everyone realized all the arguments had been presented ad nauseam. (Bit surprised the whole "he can't go left" thing coming back for review.) Lots of annoying posters were just "righteous", standing up against racism or against ignorance of team history or whatever their soap box issue was.

So it seemed like a good idea to have a fresh start to the year and fresh take on the troll-info ratio of different posters.

Well, and it also seems to me that Lin's play recently has gotten some kudos from people I used to block, so there's that too.

Looks like he had a slight smile on his face to me. And if he did not look at Dwight, you'd say "Dwight walks by and OMER IGNORES HIM!!"

Adults have to grin and bear a lot of stuff in life. People act like Omer is sucking his thumb and clutching his blankie over this thing.

    Sure, the original post said:

Defense and rebounding, sounds like Asik's strength. Then the question is would a Rodman type 4 be a problem because of offensive spacing?

Let's hope Asik has worked extremely hard on his jumpers!

Hey, the Ayer paper does describe a 4 that looks a lot like Asik (defense, rebounding, scoring about 10 points a game), but if this helps, it draws its conclusions based on historical data about past player combinations. It can only make general conclusions; it can't speak to specific personnel that a given team will have. So we have to layer on top of the general conclusions Ayer reaches, the specific characteristics of the team. And, in the case of the Rockets, they play a style of basketball, where spacing and ball movement are very important.

So, yes, like you say it will be important how good Asik's jumper is. In addition, a lot of the reason the first unit played so well in their first game was because of ball movement, and player-body movement, and general court awareness. And those haven't been particular strengths of Asik's, or at least it is not what has stood out.

But I agree with you the paper does make me even more curious to see the Howard-Asik combination, live. To see if there is something we are missing in our analysis. The fact that Dwight is so mobile does create the possibility for it to work. Anyway, it will be fun to see.

Well, now they're talking about playing Asik for 30 minutes. Gonna be very interesting!
