Just to add I’m listening to another podcast where they are discussing a second spectrum stat that tracks expected shooting percentage based on the player, the shot and how close the defender is and as of right now the rockets are in dead last.

Shooting around 4% worse than expected.

Basically saying if we keep taking these same shots we are bound to start making more.

4 percent is OK . But that basically means that if we shot 50 threes , we could
Expect to make 2 more a game . That stat alone regressing to the mean isn't gonna help us much

When you consider that some teams are shooting 5% better than expected and compare to our -4% then you see the discrepancy. They also added the next “unluckiest” team was at -3% making us far and away the least lucky team so far by the stat.

so someone hitting 45% of his threes in a game should shoot more three's or not?

lets say steph or klay were hitting 45% clip, would true GS fans complain that they should be shooting less threes?

Re-read my original comment. I said he jacked a lot of threes and was happy that he was hitting them.

so you were extremely happy he has making threes 45%. he was hot. anyonw with common sense would think shoot more threes.. not less.. or at least be happy he shot that much

how many threes did klay "jack up" when he beat the record this season?

Yes I was. 18 threes is objectively a lot of threes. I don't understand your beef with me buddy lol.
