He's just too little be the big man we need to take the bulk of those minutes next to Tucker. I mean Ariza had 4 more inches of wingspan. Can you imagine if we had Harty play a few minutes next to Clint? Combine his has 7'2" wingspan along with Clint's 7'4" wingspan and wow! Haha

No, more realistically though, we need some length and experience at that position, and hopefully we get it. Honestly though, unless Tillman made a New Year's resolution to actually do all he can to help us win it all, and not worry about the luxury tax, then I don't see it happening.

    On the Traps:

Denver toyed with trapping in Q1 to test the water (if other Rockets guys could score), and later abandoned it when they sunk into a big deficit.

One Rocket adjustment was when they trapped Harden near half court, PJ came closer, Harden pass the ball to him. 2nd defender had to make a decision to commit to the trap or close in on PJ. They close in a few times, so PJ would tap the ball right back to Harden and then Rockets would run their set.

I think this is good because in past games, when Harden is trapped at the half court line on an island, the rest of Rockets were in their spots (3pt line), but were so far away. Made the pass harder and high interception.

Thoughts on Lob connections: harden to Capela lob is still 'butta'. There were a few attempts by PJ to Capela for lobs.
    James gets doubles.
Russ gets the ball and penetrate the 4 on 3.
Defense collapses, Russ passes it to PJ, defense closes in again, by then their defense is scrambled.
PJ passes/lobs to Capela for the dunk finish.

Few didn't pan out but I liked that we tried things. It could add some new wrinkles if we can make that work. When Harden gets doubles, having some plays in the 4 on 3 is good.

PJ getting better on floaters and lobs helps immensely
Beating the trap will depend on the initial recipient of the ball from Harden . .. simply being better

House is passing up too many open shots in favor of driving to the rim and turning the ball over.

Who do you see using those minutes better? Surely it's not another midget or more minutes from Tucker, right?

Nope, nobody on this roster, unless maybe William Howard is better. I want someone more like 6'10" with more experience and skills. House will get better obviously, but I see him more as a bench player right now. I just wish Tillman would go all in, and pay the luxury tax needed to get that skilled veteran with a bigger wingspan.

Yes. They are still possibly involved in the offense. Their role is just that they are available for spot up shots. Standing around at half court while the rest of the team plays offense with your hands on your hips is really not the same thing as a player who is standing in the corner waiting for a kickout pass to the corner.

This is why MDA challenged the block by Harden that was incorrectly called a foul

House is not really a shooter, he never was. He could shoot, but he doesn't have the fastest release nor really the confidence to make them.

You see the difference in McLemore who is confident enough to launch shots whenever he catches them, because he's actually a shooter.

Nuggets is not strong actually, Houston can easy beat this team. They just stable not to easy lose to weak teams. Anyway Houston will become either 1st and 2nd seed this year.

And we pick the one with the 6'8" wingspan to be our stretch forward...lol. I wish we could upgrade that position. House plays too many minutes. We can do better.

Rockets have a very good prospect right under their nose on Vipers right now, 6'10 Ray Spalding (7'5 wingspan). Worth a 2 way IMO - instead of Frazier.

Not only similar to Clint in game (roller, rebounder, rim protector, rim runner, switch defender), length and athleticism but Spalding also has very active hands (steals, deflections) and has developed 3 point range.

Yeah, he'd be an awesome back-up SF. We need someone more reliable at that starting spot that's as big or bigger.
