Coaching. And if it isn't, then it's up to them to tell the players to stop helping. So still coaching.

Damn, it's so painful to read through all this crap directing the loss to Lin and him only? Sure, every FTs, assists, TOs, steals, and points count....but what do you expect Lin to do? Look Garcia played 35 minutes and Casspi played 18 points and the Rockets loss by just 7 points....just 4 baskets between the two of them and this would have been a different ball game. And what about Lin's 5 TOs? Well, their total 17 TOs is a bit under their season average of 17.3 TOs......some people are just so focused on one player's TOs that they forget about the other 12 TOs.

Lin was caught in no man's land a few times, and I was one of the first to call him out on that going back to last season. However its a not only his fault, but the entire team, ultimately residing with McHale. Lin over help while Parsons, and Harden under help if you will. The only person playing solid D is Dwight this season and Omer last season.

Lin being the caption save-a-ho that he is, sags off his man trying to help; often left looking foolish when his man makes a swing pass and now he's guarding two players. Kobe does this often, but the only difference is the help defense comes or Kobe chew em out. Lin being a choir boy, gets the blame for not being able to guard two men at once.

Harden does this too, but stay closer to his man so it looks contested at least. Parsons stays pretty snug to his man, as most foward in the league are not a threat to beat you off the dribble. Maybe 3-4....

McHale has no offensive nor defensive system. This man has no clue as evident by tonight switching calls. If a new coach is not in the near future, this team will waste its championship potential.

We were missing Harden and Mavs are fully healthy. Dirk is just too good.

DD you really want Lin out. You and Clutch thing that the whole rockets defense centers around Beverley. Clutch stated it in the opening to Clutch fans tonight. Kind of narrow minded. Beverley lost Thomas a few times the other day. Not a word from you or Clutch.

TBF, 3 of Lin's TO were translated to FTs.

But his D needs to improve. He played some really good D at the beginning of the season.

He seems like lost in touch with his teammates.

Dwight is playing better than I thought he would play. Garcia is playing worse than I thought he would play. Lin showed some flashes of brilliance and then... Seemed like every time Jeremy went to help, his man would drain an uncontested three.

Worst thing about this game: the refs went full-Donaghy on us. Of course the TC fans were wailing-- the replays showed no physical contact!

OK regarding the Defense. It is simply UNFAIR to criticize one player because this is a TEAM and COACHING problem.

Our players continuously break the cardinal sin of defense which is HELPING ONE PASS AWAW. Harden, Lin, Parsons, Garcia, Casspi, Brooks, Beverly, basically ALL OF OUR WING PLAYERS help one pass away.

Here is a good picture (courtesy of sbnation) demonstrating this joke of a defense. WHAT are lin and parsons doing when this play is contained?!

And the issue is that they often do this when its not needed!!!! So many times this season have I witnesses Beverly, Harden or Lin helping one pass away on a guy who is driving it into the paint with nowhere to go. And guess what happens, kick out and BOOM 3 points!

And this defensive coaching problem was only exemplified by the Pick and Roll excuse of a defense they played on dirk.

Here is an example of what Terrence should be COACHED to do.

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/l16HrnLcP5E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

HEDGE HARD. If freaking Greg Stiesma can move his feet like a gazelle don't tell me that Terrence Jones can't. Instead you have terrence switching like a lazy sloth which gives calderon or the guard ample time to distance him from nowitski. At this point just give dallas two points.

McHale made adjustments putting parsons on nowitski in the end. By then dallas was coasting! Seriously coach WTF

Thanks for the voice of reason opposed to those that are just dumping on Lin. He was better than expected (if you had reasonable expectations) and encouraging to see how strong he looked.

The the Lin bashers have their party tonight with Lin not playing his A game. Since only his A game will shut them up. I do root for Lin, but I can recognize when Lin doesn't have a SPARKLING game. Tonight Lin hurt his team, TO's early in the game, not playing solid Man-to Man D on Calderon, missing 3FTs that could have bridged the lead from 6-3 or from 7-4 late in the game.

Well, he has to be developed to play well.

Not always ditch him at the side and not developing his strengths.

Not getting enough minutes to play with the starters also lead to chemistry issues.

Maybe it would be helpful if your truth is backed by actual facts and not your opinion.

Beverly is a better defensive player than Lin, and he protects the basketball a lot better.

Lin is high risk/high reward - if he would just stop turning the ball over, and play more solid defense he would be fine.

If Lin SUCKS on a particular night, I am going to say it, if he is GREAT, I am going to say that.

There are no excuses offered, none given, Lin doesn't make excuses, his fans need to stop doing it for him, it makes them look like weak panzies.....

Learn the game, hold players accountable and expect MORE from them.

The facts are tonight that Lin left his man wide open for 3pt shots time and time again when his man was not even involved in the play.

Now, my opinion about that, is that it is ****ING STUPID BASKETBALL.

And that is a fact - that it is my opinion....lol

TJones is struggling. Garcia is struggling. This team doesn't have a legit 4 or a good backup SG. People can blame AB and Lin (like they usually do), but the fact is there are deficiencies everywhere that all contribute to what's happening.

Terrance Jones probably had his worst game of the season by far no doubt. He offically got welcomed to the NBA by Dirk. No excuses for Terrance, he better wake up early tomorrow ready to study the game film.

    Well said DD. Preach!

Lin is the most critical of himself but his fans look for all kinds of lame ass excuses to defend his atrocious play...

no, i didn't count those. i'm a fan of lin's game but there are always things to improve on. mental aspects that can be fixed. shock collar maybe? if the other team's post player wants to score 49 points , let him. you just stay with your man.
