That final act just punctuated the reality of the Houston Rockets: if you depend on Rafer Alston to be the 'hero', your ship will sink.

Steve should realize Morey and Rick are boosting Rafer's trade value for mid-december.

That was an amazing play by Yao. He set it up perfectly for the 3....

Rafer responded with a thundering Anti-climax.

We will be lucky to win a game the rest of the month. Adelman is a horrible coach for this team. He will kill us.

now we get a lesson of how important tracy is

w/o him, we go to a variety of people down the stretch and have no identity.

we looked like a high school ball club down the stretch w/o knowing what play to run.

how about that sequence from yao

gets the bucket draws the foul

clanks it off the FRONT of the rim (first time ive ever seen that) back TO himself

dishes to 3 point shooter with 1.4 sec left

    then rafer...

    That loss hurt, a lot.

I don't blame the last play, Yao was lucky enough to have the rebound bounce right back to him. His missed free throws earlier hurt a lot, so did Bonzi's.

someone finally missed a free throw the way i've always wanted them to! yao is smart. everyone always tries to shoot a high arcing shot to get a bounce or tries to hit the backboard first. i've always wondered why people don't just slam it off the front of the rim and try to ricochet it directly back to themselves and then quickly pass it out. it's hard to box out and still be in position for such a bounce. yao missed it perfectly, threw the pass perfectly, and we even got the shot off. almost a 5 point comeback in 1.4. granted, rafer was shooting so it had no chance, but it was still cool to see someone execute it the only way it should be done.

now what can we do about yao and bonzi missing free throws like it's going out of style (though bonzi has always sucked) and james and alston putting up nightly shooting duels of the 2-10 variety.
