No way, it'd have to be someone like wilt who average 50 one season. Actually these are his season averages (consecutive above 25): 1959–60 37.6 1960–61 38.4 1961–62 50.4 1962–63 44.8 1963–64 36.9 1964–65 34.7 1965–66 33.5 the 1960-63 numbers are incredible, I'd be really interested to know what his streak was.
Anybody with an ounce of common sense would, that's no knock on Lin, but we're talking about Chris Paul here...
Bored working, and decided to check out the Chinese Rockets message board. Found this little nugget which I thought was pretty cute. Rockets game plan: 1st quarter, dig a hole for themselves. 2nd quarter, fill that hole back up. 3rd quarter, dig a hole for their opponent. 4th quarter, bury their opponent in it.
anybody with an ounce of common sence would predict this lakers team gonna fight for title..... we're talking about chemistry here...(btw cp3 is long time nba veteran and he won a zilch and i think never won a playoff series except perhaps once)...people need to stop stats and star worship...the best example are lakers and their company of stars superstars and hall of famers...they have a record far worse than this rookie team...stats are many times a poor indicators whats gonna work for a team....i guess every player on this team could be traded for a slightly or considerably better one but such a frankenstain team would won over this TEAM perhaps only 2 in ten times...
CP3 led terrible Hornets teams to the playoffs several times. And to say CP3 wouldn't be an upgrade over Lin due to chemistry is ludicrous, you realize this team has been together for 35 games right? CP3 will be a first ballot, all-time great before all is said and done. And he is unique from the Laker's stars in that he's the type of player that will do anything to make the team better, he doesn't care if he gets his shots hes just as happy facilitating.
Nice analysis. I thought you would be the one who would jump the gun to trade for CP3. I agree, star worship is reactionary thinking. Look at the 2003 Lakers with Gary Payton, Karl Malone, Kobe, Shaq, Fisher. 4 hall of famers on the starting lineup and they get whopped by the Pistons, a bunch of nobodies, or borderline Hall of Famers. None of the Pistons were all stars until after they won their first title. For those who want another "star," remember this, when the Lakers won their championship in 1971, Elgin Baylor was gone, and the Lakers had the best record ever, until the 72-10 Bulls. They had a 33 game win streak, the Rockets are second with 22. They had Jerry West, Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain. How is it that when Baylor retired, the team becomes so much better? I mean, they had 3 hall of famers right?
Why even bother asking such a question. It will never happen. Why not ask...would you trade Lin for Durant? Like seriously...
oh yeah! he led his team to playoffs what an achievement! Lin in his practically rookie year has already led two different teams into playoffs..terrible knicks and terrible rockets.... All of Lakers starting five is upgrade over Rockets yet we beat them twice...and were 6th seed while they lost all hopes of reaching playoffs... Chemistry is not logical...chemistry is not statistical.... another thing, were talking here more about a kind of chemistry from day one not the chemistry which builds upon time spent playing together... besides that my comment is not based only on chemistry but on another of Lin's qualities...intangibles...character...miracle worker if you will... So is Kobe. So is Steve Nash. PERIOD. Gasol and Steve Nash too... Kobe IS selfish yet he won 5 rings... why his selfishness is in his way now and earlier it was not a hindrance? Would you explain how he managed to won 5 titles and now he cant lead LA into playoffs playing one of his best seasons with the best rooster in the league? God, basketball stats sucks so much!.....the media and experts keep repeating in one of his best seasons and I wouldn't took Kobe to play on my team even at local basketball playground...the guy has no clue about basketball...
Nah bro ur trying too hard. Other than possibly rebounding CP3 is upgrade over Lin on almost everything.
That's true but why would anybody want to compare a practical rookie with a 8 year vet in the first place?
this is actually the usual game pattern of rox. we trend to struggle a bit in the 1st quater, and the opponent team will slowly find it tough to keep up with our pace.
Glass half full... It's progress...now it's Lin vs Nash or Lin vs CP3. Earlier in the year, it was Lin vs bottom tier PGs, and anyone talking about CP3 and Lin in the same sentence would be mocked, scorned and laughed off these forums by the same type of people who think Lin is below average and should go back to the D-League. At least now, people try to explain why Lin or CP3 is better.
It's a real shame how our own homers always bash Lin during game day for every little miscue. If you visit the Knicks forum over at RealGM, there are tons of Lin haters. http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1220866&start=930 I know we lost Lowery and Dragic, but the Rockets are in a far better situation right now. The rockets would not be where they are if we had kept both Lowery and Dragic. Time to move on bros...
Carlos was the X-factor when we were struggling. When his shot is on out of the gate off the bench, we're a much more dangerous team.
Surprisingly, these people still exist and pop up especially when it looks like Lin is having a bad game.
