Yall already know Harden is going to leave Langston Galloway (who has been on fire) open all day long.

Well, the Knicks are an average time right now. They play at a slower pace than the Rockets though. Their TS% and eFG% is nearly identical with ours, so they're not a great offensive team. The thing is that the Knicks are extremely safe with the ball and don't turn it over much, so the Rockets likely won't get many points off fast breaks this game. Another troublesome stat is that the Knicks are one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the league mainly due to their size. Anthony, Kris, or Lopez are all good rebounders and tonight it looks like our only big will be Clint. Essentially, look for a lot of second chance points on their side of the end.

Also, the Knicks aren't a 3 point shooting team. They have completely changed since the last time they were good. This could be a good game to play zone a couple of possessions. They also are a bottom 12 team when it comes to attempting lay-ups and dunks. This means they there shouldn't be a lay up drill on the Rockets this game.

75% of the Knicks offense comes from inside the 3 point arc. They are near the bottom at shots taken from 0-3 feet. Bottom 10 in shots taken 3-10 feet, but top in in both shots taken from 10-16 feet and 16 feet to the 3 point line. This is a jump shooting team that does not like threes and is afraid to drive in. Look for long rebounds. The Knicks are near the top of 2fga but also right at the bottom in 2fg%.

Defensively, they have been great keeping the opposing team away from threes. This could benefit us greatly. The bad thing is though that the Rockets could be stubborn and still take 30+ threes which will be a guaranteed loss for us. Want to know why that's bad? The Knicks are second only behind GSW in opponent 3fg%. The Knicks have made it a point to stop teams from shooting threes and making them. This could be disastrous for the Rockets tonight. Another bad thing is that they are actually good at keeping the other team from driving into the paint essentially making the other team take most of their shots mid range attempts. The Rockets have to choose from either attacking or taking the three. They can not fall into the Knicks defensive game plan.

Another thing is that the Knicks seem to be actually solid defensively this season. Their opponents eFG% is 46% (same as the Warriors) so I'm not sure how skewed that is. One thing I also noticed is that the Knicks are near the bottom at forcing opponent turn overs which could help us since we're so awful at keeping the ball. Lastly, the Knicks love putting the opponent on the line.

Oogie Boogie's keys to the game:

    1. Attack, attack, attack! ---- Less threes and more driving in. We have to get Harden, Jones, Lawson, and Brewer to drive inside more into the paint to either finish inside or draw the foul. Points in the paint will be key in this game, and not us taking an absurd amount of threes.

    2. Crash the defensive glass. ---- Don't think the possession is over just because they shot. The possession isn't over until you have the ball in your hands. Forgo the fast break.

    3. Defensive effort is a must. ---- The Knicks take a lot of jump shots, and only have 4 respectable 3 point shooters. Force the Knicks to take contested mid range jump shots.

We need that Sargent from that Aliens movie (1986). Our players need some serious boots-to-arse kicking. Who will provide that leadership?

We will lose. Everyone effed off in the offseason, training camp and preseason. No one cares about how bad they are embarrassing our city.

If that was posted today I'd be a lot more hopeful. Teams need to loosen up a bit. Remember the Warrior-Memphis series? They turned it around thanks to a night out on the town and loosening up a bit.

It's safe to not start tanking... right?

Is it just me, or does nobody else have any hope that the Rockets will figure this out soon and start getting back on a groove?

P.s... we do need a healthy D-Mo back, tho.

Knicks + 3.5, gut says Rockets win this, brain says Galloway drops 3 after 3 on our very bad point guards... EH, betting Knicks.
