Both teams other than Harden and Cousins looked like a junior Y league game. Our bounce passes at peoples knees look brilliant when they work and when they don't they look stupid. Same with the defense, the blocks looked awesome, the missed coverage layups (all 20 of them) looked inept. Wait, throw Tjones on the good side, he looked like a basketball war machine. He just needs red eyes and maybe breath some fire. But it's pretty much Harden or bust when Omri Casspi is beating you.
My point is these are professional basketball player who are capable of making runs no matter if they are the best team or the worst team. I pointed out why we gave up lead after lead during this game. And yes it's concerning to me now. I watch that Clippers come back too and Portland started doing some of the exact things we did to lose a 19 point lead. They went cold, turned the ball over, played sloppy and careless and didn't get back on defense during that stretch. I've seen every team this year give up big leads to bottom feeders as well. It happens all the time AustinRocket. You make valid points but please don't ignore those facts that I've stated.
WOOT WOOT Here we go! Both tied at 27.6 PPG Harden needs to go all out and get that scoring title. He deserves it for his consistency all season.
The most welcome point out of the game was Harden's great shooting. His comments about gaining confidence in the shoot around when he was struggling were an eye opener for me. Go Harden Go! They can't stop you! Go Houston Rockets!
He "won" it in '95 and shouldn't have, leading to one of the great humiliations in NBA history. The Dream made the Admiral getting his MVP trophy that day in SA into a 48 minute nightmare. It was a thing of beauty.
Is that what he said? I couldn't make out anything he said since the man was in tears. Muahaha! What an absolutely dominating series that was for Hakeem, among the greatest in the history of the world.
I wish people would look at Cousins' competition when he put up those ridiculous stats. I don't want to knock too hard on these guys but Freaking D-league talented players Clint Capela and Joey Dorsey. Multiple centers have put up 20/20 against the Rockets. My impression is that we are the worst rebounding team in the league without Howard on the floor.
And McLamore and Nik Stauskas - often double teams. Not a terrible group...certainly too talented to be in the D-League, right?
Hakeem is the better center in my eyes; but in 1995, Robinson's case for the MVP was pretty decisive. -Hakeem won it the year before (It is, to a degree, more difficult to win it in back to back years due to voter fatigue) -David Robinson played 10 more games -The Spurs had a better record by 15 games -Robinson had a better point to per minute ratio -Robinson had a better rebounding ratio -Robinson turned the ball over less -He was higher in Player Efficiency Rating -Higher in offensive win shares -Higher in defensive win shares -Which also translates to being higher in win shares I am happy Robinson won the MVP. It only makes the 95' story of Hakeem's dominance that much more epic. Ultimate underdog story in my opinion and Hakeem proved who the top dog really was
No, I don't Htown...your points are certainly valid as well...as much as mine if not more so. I am concerned at the pattern of giving up leads CONSISTENTLY. It happens to everyone for sure as you say. We both love the same team and want success. I am still shell shocked from some of the previous late season collapses in recent past years....don't want to look up and have lost home court and be a 6 or 7 seed. It could certainly happen.
