If we win this game, 21 in a row would be realistic. 2nd in NBA history?

absolutely 21 wins is possible if we can pull this one out. No David West and the second night of a back to back for the Hornets leans this towards us. After that we play the Nets, Hawks and Bobcats 3 very winnable games. After that it gets considerably harder with the Lakers, Celtics, Hornets again, Warriors and then Phoenix. if we can go 3-2 in that stretch that basically the last hard stretch from there we have 12 games left with only 3 hard ones San Antonio, Utah and Phoenix who might have been a failure trade.

so basically 4 winnable games to get the streak to 21.

    then 5 tough games

then 9 of the next 12 are winnable.

21 games left best case 17-4

that would be a final record of 58-24

for San Antonio to remain above us(and presumably in first place) they would have to go 16-7 the rest of the way. New Orleans would have to finish 18-5..

Thus we really have a chance to surge if we can finish this streak strong and survive that 5 game hard streak although Golden State is winnable and Phoenix is floundering with Shaq so it could only be 3 tough games, Bos, Lakers and Hornets.

Here is the source that I saw: http://blog.nola.com/hornetsbeat/2008/03/injured_west_expected_to_miss.html

West expected to miss second consecutive game
Posted by John Reid, The Times Picayune March 07, 2008 3:11PM

Starting forward David West is expected to miss his second consecutive game due to a sprained left ankle tonight against the New Jersey Nets. West sat out Friday's shootaround at the New Orleans Arena.

"He'd probably won't play tonight unless he tells me something different,'' Hornets Coach Byron Scott said. "He will probably not play until Wednesday.''

Ryan Bowen is likely start in place of West at power forward. Bowen started during Wednesday's 116-101 victory against the Atlanta Hawks and scored eight points in 34 minutes.

Bonzi Wells has missed the past two games with a sore Achilles' tendon, but Scott said it will be a game-time decision whether he will play tonight. Wells participated in the shootaround and moved around well. Center Chris Andersen, who was re-signed this week, also is not expected to play, Scott said.

The Hornets have won two consecutive games and will play the Houston Rockets on Saturday night at the Toyota Center. The Rockets have won a franchise-record 17 consecutive games. The game also will mark the first time Bobby Jackson will play against the Hornets since they traded him last month in exchange for Mike James and Wells.
