Harden bumped his knee yesterday. What happened to Lin?

kinda disagree alit bit. harden is an all round player, pretty much good at everything except D. regarding D, he can be good but he seems no interests.

well, on the other side, lin is not an all round player. he is very special player, good at penetrating and attacking the rim and also good at doing transition offense.

now you have two main players. what are you going to do with them? you know you can put harden in any place and he will shine. you also know if you force lin to do whatever he is not good at he won't give you the best you can get. the conclusion is obvious. you want to add up their strength. you don't want to just focus on one player strength. remember harden can do everything but it doesn't mean he can do all things at once. if he becomes a facilitator at one moment, he won't be a spot up shooter at that moment.

as i said in my other posts, harden is fvking deadly spot up shooter. when he is wide open, he rarely misses shots. he is the best spot up shooter on this team. let lin to do all hardwork most times and save harden energy for the best. harden doesn't need to take over the game unless lin is not effective to guide the offense or lin was focal point of other teams' D or near the end of a game when it is very close.

Ok, that's a bit concerning. We knew that Harden was banged up, but how was Lin banged up other than taking that shot to the face?

Lin turned his ankle in the first quarter of the game last night. Maybe thats why parsons was handling the ball so much in the second half.

You made many great points in this analysis.

In short, Lin should be allowed to play more of a PG, a play-maker and a floor general, while both Harden and Parsons, or even Delfino, should play more of a finisher and scorer role, and a secondary facilitator role.

sadly that is so true :(
How can this "Chaotic NoS NoS" system ever work in the playoff?

In the words of Mchake "I have no idea" concerning his contract. I hate being :mad:negative but his negativity makes me negative regarding the team and its chances of playing the way they are capable of. It's like he wants to win but win only his way. The fact is his way of winning doesn't fit what this team is and the make up of how these players play at their young ages. There is a lot to be positive about regarding this team and there are many things that can done to get the maximum best results from this group but McHale is good at being hard headed. He's good at making you eat a cake that taste good but then at the very moment you finish eating the cake and it's all digested and your feeling good you find out the cake had rat poison in it... That's how I feel after rockets games sometimes!

for what it's worth i do agree with your approach. i'm only explaining the reason for lin's inconsistency and frustrating performances as it stands in mchale's approach. this is basically how mchale sees things and how lin will be utilized.

that being said, if this forces lin to develop his weaknesses i'm all for it. we're not in it to win it all this year anyway, and a lin with a better jumper is one that will help us down the road. i just don't want mchale to change his makeup as a player.

If you define the simplest play as one with the least amount of passes, then I disagree.

The play that gets the ball to the shooter/finisher with best open look is the smartest.

Oftentimes an extra pass would get you a much easier shot than a forced one. The Knicks get this comment often from the commentators for their one extra pass.

Actually it wasn't just any shot blocker. Sanders is the leading the league in shot blocking, and Harden should have known that.

Just come to think of it. If Harden had dunked the ball instead of laying it up, most likely Sanders would not be able to block it, or Harden would draw a foul.

Hrm, wonder why that didn't make it onto the broadcast? It's always good to know when people are injured/sick.

Like not only was Lin sick in Washington, apparently so was Chandler Parsons. (Rocketscast live).

Would be nice to know all this stuff so we can more accurately judge the performance of our roster...

"Lin is so disappointing. One good game followed by 3 poor ones. Starting to doubt we see Linsanity again."

We're not going to see Linsanity again. Coach McHale has already said he does not want to see another Linsanity. Even after Lin scored 29 points against OKC in a hard fought win, he got criticized by McHale for scoring 29 points and 9 (imaginary) TOs. He wants Lin to play safe and conservative BB, and not make home run plays. Lin is just following coach's orders.

It's like you have to bend or curl all the time, since you are not allowed to stretch and stand up tall, let alone jump high.

What a bad feeling to follow orders.

You're missing the point. He's telling you to use multi-quote to put all your posts into one post so we don't have to see 3+ posts in a row of you quoting others and saying "totally agreed."

Would be one long post since 90 percent of it would be quotes from other posters o_O
