No kidding.....can't have a "cinderella" stretch that they just had the past 10+ games and then regress to losing to "cupcakes" ala early in the season. That would be a pretty big let down.

Yep. Rockets shot almost 40% from 3 and made 18 3-pointers! That's USUALLY a win.

But the terrible defense and incompetence to finish around the basket (Looking at you Capela) did them in.

spot on, btw numbers never say dont use the midrange or whatever, its their interpretation of the numbers that is lacking substance not the numbers themselves

If we had the right coach and our players were always rested we would never lose a game.

Harden should attempt more of those floaters when the shot isnt going in instead of just plowing through defenders recklessly trying to get the foul that wasn't happening last night

this guy can't even get harden's stat line right so it's no surprise his simple-minded amateur thesis rings hollow. yeah harden has been singlehandedly carrying this team for a month and still could have won the game with pretty much open 3's in the final minute if he hadn't been dead tired exhausted. that's about 90% of the reason MIL "stopped" him lol

Anyone else upset that we tried too hard to get Capela involved on the offensive end?

The lead at halftime was fools gold because we were 10-22 in 3s....not sustainable - and once our threes stopped falling and they kept getting uncontested layups, it was pretty obvious what the issue was.....DEFENSE.

If we would just play DEFENSE a little bit and force them to shoot over the top we win this game easily.

 I was about to post this. I think the article has interesting topic but it overstated its case to a laughable level then to an asinine level.

“Not only was the team able to get the actual win, they also found a way to hold James Harden to 42 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and two steals”

“As the frustration of not getting the drives, or the foul calls, he wanted, Harden began to settle for jump shots instead.”<< he shot 37.5 % from 3

Then they completely dismiss CP3 later in the article:rolleyes:

I mean, the Rockets were RIGHT THERE to have a chance to win the game even WITHOUT CP and EG. Not having ballhandlers/shot creators like CP and EG to balance things out hurt. No doubt. There are going to be games where it is more apparent than others. This is one.

The Bucks defense....we have seen in before. Right from the SPURS playbook. And THAT is why the Rockets got CP.

Harden has to TRUST and GO TO his floater shot WAY MORE. That will open things up. Too many times he tried to wedge in a pass where he should have gone to the floater. I would rather the floater attempt than the turnover. And the turnovers lead to fast break points without a set defense.

Capela sucked. 4-16? (though kudos to 10-12 FTs!!). But Capela got MAN HANDLED by Lopez. He was not locked in. So many missed dunk attempts. Got flustered. Just a bad game. I man against Jokic the previous game he was great.

On nights when Capela is sucking, yeah, going to the small ball lineup is a good change up. And that is the reason why Morey should be looking at a "4/5" range shooting (switchable) PF. A backup for PJ and Capela. This is why I have brought up Markieff Morris and Bobby Portis. Adding Rivers helped in the "wing spot" even if he is only 6'4." But a switchable range shooting 4/5 would help complete the lineup.

I think it's laughable that they're saying they "locked up" harden or provided some blueprint. Harden's shooting of 13/30 isn't far off from his usual overall shooting numbers over the streak. He shot about what he typically does from 3 as well. Capela's struggling cost us the game more than anything else.

I don't know what it is but Capela seems to always struggle against brook lopez. I remember he got dominated by him in a game against the lakers last year too, with brook constantly blocking his shot and making him miss layups. Must be his height, and combination of length and enough strength matching what Capela usually has an advantage on against other teams' bigs. Seems to have really good IQ of where to be for boards as well. Bigs like him tend to be abused out on the perimeter and midrange as they're slower laterally.

That and the fact you simply can't expect to beat anyone when you turn the ball over to them 18 times!! Lazy, sloppy, and stupid passes killed our chance to win.
