[ClutchFans] FINALLY! Rockets unveil black alternate jersey for 2016-17 season

Black one looks awesome. Waiting a year for it is dumb, though. Why even unveil it?

Why 2016-2017?

 

Supposed to replicate the sides of old 50s rockets, if I heard right.

 

Black = Acceptable
Red = Disappointing
Grey = KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS THAT'S BAD.

 

Can we just make the Ketchup and Mustard our normal jersey and the black as our permanent road jersey.

All the sleeved jerseys look terrible, so does the lunar one, so does the Christmas one. They just look absolutely terrible.

 

Hate it. Nowhere near Asian enough for me. Thumbs down!

 

Finally, one that says 'Houston.'

Finally, the return of the lowercase 't' in the CLUtCH CItY road jersey.

Finally, a black alternate!!

 

Black one looks great although I don't understand the checkered sides. It makes sense for the Kings because it alludes to a chessboard...where there are kings. But I can't connect the dots for the Rocketss. The silver jersey looks mehhhh. The red one is the worst, what's with the ghetto looking lettering? Looks so cheap like a knockoff jersey.

 

2016-2017???WTF.

 

So we still have to see ugly jersey this season?

 

It's ok, glad they didn't follow some of the ideas floating around in the other threads.

I'm just glad Texans fans and Astros fans don't have that wannabe Raiders complex. Shudder to think Watt or Correa in some corny black jerseys.

 

It's apparently inspired by the Titan II rocket that was part of the Gemini Program before the Apollo Program.

One cool note: Project Gemini was the first program to use Houston as the Mission Control for its flights.

 

People must be into Goth as Rockets fans with all their infatuation with black. Personally, give me back yellow and mustard regular unis and I'm good to go. Make it the regular home jersey, whatever for the road.

 

Same feeling. We have to wait the black jersey like championship? :grin:

 

The should make the alternatives the regular and the regular the alternatives.

 

For the first two, was there a competition to see who could make the most generic, unimaginative jerseys using as little of our color-scheme as possible?

The third one is just a severe downgrade from our previous alternate.

By "it" do you mean one in particular? Or all three?

Maybe they'll grow on me. But first impression isn't good. The black is OK.

 

The black uni should be our regular uni. Nasty!!
