Both Harden and Gordon drove to the cup time after time.

I will agree that Harden shot too many off the dribble 3's but Gordon is a 3 point specialist.

I'm not sure why "FT" is compared to 3s, here. In a FT, you're not defended and you have plenty of time to get a good shot. FTs are not the same as midrange shots.

Also, there's always factors involved, that influence your shot.

Like @Bobsputin said, making 15/44 3's is 45 points. Making 44/44 FTs is 44 points. Making 23/44 midrange shots is 46 points. So you'd need to make 8 more shots while attempting the same amount, to beat making 15 3s.

And the factors for midrange include the fact that you either have to beat your defender off the dribble or run around screens from teammates to get somewhat open. Both of those methods tire you out. And when you do get into the paint or just slightly outside of the paint for the midrange, you're probably better defended, as well.

I like the thought, but "3>2" is what it is.

I will say this about the lack of midrange game...I'm not sure why James didn't go to his midrange step-back when the 3s weren't falling. He was so money with that shot a few years ago. It is an arrow in his quiver he refuses or is being told not to use. It is a mistake IMO and should be brought back as part of his full-time repertoire.

What is the talk about the strategy 'working in a vaccuum'???

Did we not just play game 7 of the Western Conference finals against an historically great team? And were up 3-2 before losing our 2nd best player... Do you honestly believe Chris Paul doesn't make us a better team, and we couldn't have won game 7 with him?

    Wow.

Load up Daryl, I'm looking forward to this off-season and another title run next season! Let's get a significant piece and make a run for 70 games, WCF champions, and NBA champions!!!

Horry is one of the most under rated players of all time. All he did was travel around winning championships everywhere. He was a badass.

No one is forcing him. He needs to attack the rim . Harden was a outstanding 10-16 from the rest of the floor. He was automatically good from everywhere not the three point line.

That’s in him to attack the bucket more

It's all about making your offense less predictable. The Rocket should focus on what they do best, which is ISO & shooting 3s, but they also need to have plan B, and C when the defense focus on stopping their plan A.

You don't need play maker talent to move without ball, to make cuts, which the Rockets players rarely do.

Catch & shoot 3pts is such a rhythm thing, it's hard to do when you are not in a rhythm, particularly with the tired legs after chasing other teams on the other end.
