Dwight: "my free throws didnt lose the game."

Dwight: "Smith was big.....hit his free throws...big reason they won."

The free throws are why they lost period. Dwight missed 8 free throws. Rockets won by 2 points.

No question this is on DHO. Missed his free throws and we owned them on the offensive boards, especially in the 4th.

    They can keep that loser.

Yesterday was the first I got to watch an entire Lakers game, seen a couple qtrs and maybe a half of some others. I know they are pinning a lot of this on Dwight and he is at fault for missing those free throws but he does not look anywhere near 100%.

He seemed to either just be coasting because he thought the game would be a gimme or he just doesnt have his explosion back after the offseason back surgery. He was not very physically basically just relied on his size.

Anyways, defensive breakdowns are what cost the lakers this game, when your up 17 in the second half and your big man shoots 50% from the line you must have really fudged up somewhere else as well.

I would like to see Dwight Howard have the maturity to at least acknowledge that his free throw shooting has been a problem for his team, and that he has to improve.

The press and fans are not all that unreasonable when it comes to star athletes who demonstrate accountability and promise better results in the future.

Look at what some Laker fans are saying about Dwight.

Found this Gem on one of their forums:

It's pretty clear that Dwight is just a class clown, he's basically even more immature than LBJ when he was immature lol. It's clear he has franchise player talent, but he lacks the character true franchise players have.

The thing is though, Hack-a-Dwight didn't cost them the game, he's right, their horrible D is what cost them the game. Antoni has never believed in defense, the 7 seconds or less offense the Suns had before seemed to be about letting their opponents score 2 so they can score a 3, and that's simply not gonna work with the Lakers.

DH made 50% of his fts during the Hack-a-dwight, if their D was up to snuff then they would have held on to the game. Too bad for them their 2nd best defender (hill) got on D'Antoni's bad side and is collecting DNP-CDs lol.
