I went ahead and threw out your nick to friends of mine in Boston...for some reason...your nick sounds NE like. I got a quick response.

"The dude totally crashed the BIMA parties in the summer at Brandeis. Hence the Thug part."

understand, this is just a guess on their part. no one knows you.

I'll get flamed for this, but if Yao's foot forces him to retire or miss the rest of the season, how will that impact the cap?

I'm from China, and find that in this forun Yao is not evaluated as poor as in China.

That's a good question. The Rockets have already received a Disabled Player Exception (DPE) for Yao's foot injury (which was used to sign Trevor Ariza), so I'm not sure if the league would be inclined to grant the Rockets another one for Yao this season.

But if they did (which approval requires a diagnosis from an NBA-designated physician), the most the Rockets could get is $5.765M (the average player salary) to use to sign free agents or as a trade exception.

The Rockets (I believe) must apply for the Disabled Player Exception prior to November 30 if they want to be able to use the DPE for this season. But I doubt the Rockets, or Yao, are at that point right now.

I don't want Yao forced into retirement, but I would welcome voluntary retirement at this point.

Hail Morey! We avoided paying LT. In return, we're 1-6.
