    Lin

Any way to find out how many long 2s were 3s where Lin stepped on the line? It's no one's fault but his own, but it could be a reason his 3% is not higher given that his long 2s have a high percentage.

If you add those up, his long 2 percentage is 42%. That's a little above average.

I still believe Lin and Howard will be a better pick and roll duo.

The very best play Lin runs is the pick and roll from the right side. If you look at all the plays and what he gets out of it, most of the time he gets to the rim or gets his big man a layup/dunk at the rim or he gets a shooting foul. Of all the PnRs he ran last year from the right, probably 50-60 of them wound up with Lin dribbling into the 15-17 footer. He nails that shot at an astounding rate...somewhere around 60%. Lin is EXTREMELY efficient on the right side pick and roll with the big.

Teams can go under and force Lin to shoot a jumper.

Perhaps the plan is to use Asik to keep Dwight healthy, and then in the playoffs Dwight pushes for extended minutes. Harden and Lin will take turns to sustain the feed and pick and rolls.

    Possible?

Will the training camp be full of Harden+DH pick n roll vs Lin+Asik plus the other permutation?

But Howard doesn't like PnR as mentioned by many here before in CF. The Harden Howard pick and roll may not work out afterall.

It doesn't matter if he likes it or not. If he wants to succeed, then he better nut up and work with his best option which is the pick and roll. The dude needs to stop trying to emulate great centers of the past where it was post 24/7 but instead embrace the new age method, which he is actually good at. Stop listening to Shaq!

Lin will let Howard finish more than Harden

Harden is a better scorer out of the pnr. With Asik last year, Harden just used him as a pick guy to get himself open for the step back or attack the rim. If he is doing this to Howard often, then there will be an unhappy Howard. Superstars don't like to be used as ploy. Harden will have to learn to give up the ball to the rolling Howard more often than last year with Asik.

With Jeremy Lin there should be no such problem. Lin is a past first pg and will be happy just let someone else score, especially Howard who will finish and score more often than Asik last year. Lin will get more assists per game with that, and his TO will go down with Howard scoring instead of Asik losing the pass. It will be a win-win situation between Lin and Howard. It won't be surprising that Howard will at some point demand more pnr with Lin than Harden.

why do you think harden didn't give up the ball to Asik that often?

    As a Lakers fan....

Steve Nash and Dwight Howard were statistically the best P&R guard/roll combo in the league before they went to LA last year. Then it has been documented SEVERAL times that Dwight was reluctant to run it in LA. SMH. We all had the same dreams last year too about the P&R plays....

Has absolutely NOTHING to do with my point. Want to keep personally attacking me? I reported you.

    http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/e...tor-steve-nash-talks-dwight-howards-departure

"He didn't seem like he really wanted to do a pick-and-roll offense, maybe because he had run one in Orlando for so long and he wanted to get in the post more."

So yah you're wrong. That was what we had to deal with. Hopefully he stops letting his ego get in the way, but McHale said he'd feature Dwight in the post. With his turnover problems, lack of passing ability, and lack of post move diversity, you can only hope he changes his mind.

...And I'm probably older than you.

Woah, big text. If you have seen the thread with Hakeem, the pictures clearly show Dwight getting 11+ ft in the air on a hook-shot: he is healthy again. Ok, a question: Who would you put one on one against Dwight in the post?
