But the Brooks + KM backcourt is not a shining example of what we want to replicate on defense. But, yeah, it would be interesting.

I can see T mac returning to the team as back up. Not Yao though, he's done.

Perception is reality. AB is always a SG in PG body, and Lowry is a better PG was not because AB was bad offensively. No, he was very good to create shots for himself. Yao Ming's 7'6 frame is an advantage for the Rockets, not a prestige for him or his fans. AB isn't good at play making, and this was the opinion of many professionals, and later of the coaching staff.

Speaking of Rockets's chance of winning. If memory serves me right, Yao was perfect 6-6 and Scola just missed one shot in the entire first half. AB managed to get them both 2 shots all together in the second half, at one of the playoff games against Blazers. We ended up losing that game, painfully and unnecessarily.

Yeah, that was for Yao's "prestige". Never let facts stand in your way.

It's like Brooks can't pass and is selfish. He's not the same level of playmaker as Lin, but he's not a chucker. As others have said, Brooks played well with Martin who can't create at all. I don't see playing with Harden being a problem other than defense.

As I mentioned earlier, as soon as the Rockets offense started to get less reliant on Yao the cries started. Heck there were those whining about Scola getting lots of shots because of Yao being doubled with the Rockets being successful. I remember one of those games against Portland in the play-offs....

Edit: Once Lowry became a decent 3P shooter it was a complete no brainer... The meld was complete(Combine Brooks shooting with Lowry's PG/D skills)

Brooks can score much easier than Lin when Lin's not shooting well. His minus attributes are passing and defense. His shooting with the ball and w/o are both huge pluses.

Are we no longer the youngest team?

    Few thoughts
    1) Morey strikes again! AB is what we are all hoping, a 3rd scoring guard after Lin and Harden. A scoring punch when Harden sits, a shooting PG that can just camp and shoot open 3s.

    2) Really not hoping to see a small ball line up of Lin, AB and Harden....

    Question,
With the addition of Garcia and now AB, are rox still the youngest team?

so is Brooks actually getting playing time? I guess he's insurance for just in case...maybe some spot minutes behind Harden.

Excited about the team down the stretch!

I really don't see the obsession with Brooks. Beverley is basically Brooks with a floater and defense.

Look, there is no downside to this. All it cost are 1) Les Alexander's money, 2) 2012-13 cap space that would have otherwise likely gone unused, and 3) Honeycutt likely getting waived when we have no intention of keeping him (his guaranteed $100k may impact the cap space some but the amount is very small and can be worked around).

In exchange, you get at least needed insurance at PG-- with only 2 PGs, if one goes down, the other would have to play 48 minutes-- and possibly an vet who can really play. You also get a cheap option on a possibly valuable player, which makes this contract a trade asset come summer.

Check out Brooks's shot chart for this year. He shoots lights out from up top.

    AB + Del3no + Robinson = AB + Battier + Mandry
