You should probably hate the Texans doctor that botched (or mis-diagnosed) the first procedure.

Why can't you hate both? The dangerous field for causing the injury, and the doctor for botching the surgery.

Yup....pretty ridiculous. The only thing I can see him going back in for is microfracture, but who knows.

Neither one can be proven... the latter is still more likely than the former.... and lastly, Clowney had a typical football injury that could occur on any damn field anywhere (just like people get injured every week on every single type of surface).

Lets blame the NRG field for Justin Hunter's spleen laceration!

Microfracture is an approach to fix a specific cartilage condition, not to fix a tear or a complication from a tear.

I doubt that is what he is needing or having.

non contact injuries are more common than contact, when it happens at NRG people blame the turf because Bill B did a drunk late night radio interview several years ago and said so.

Yeah the fields rep is probably worse than reality. But it was swearinger that first said something about the turf regarding clowneys injury.

Good thing Mercilus is doing well. Maybe the offseason will give Clowney time to learn a new position. Maybe?

As Carl Herrera would say, Busty Clowney!

    That's so Texans.

Somebody will always say something about the turf whenever there's a non-contact knee/ankle/ovary injury every other year or so... the reality is the entire team (Watt, Swearinger, Cushing, Foster included) goes out there every damn week... some for several years here... and doesn't worry one iota that the mythical turf monster will end their season.

And to be honest, if it was a real issue the players and coaches would have demanded it to be changed... like 10 years ago. The reality is, they know what field-turf is and they still choose this.

I'm kinda glad. The guy was never right all year. Take a mulligan and come back strong.

True. He wasn't right his senior year in collage, he wasn't right at the combine, he wasn't right at training camp, he wasn't right in preseason, he wasn't right during the season. He just hasn't been right for a long time.

If he did all that in college while injured, imagine what he'll do when healthy!

This is the narrative most folks choose to ignore. Wasn't right senior year, wasn't right in training camp, wasn't right during the season.

How folks (media) aren't seeing these red flags is beyond me. Guess we'll see.

I wonder if the 1st doctor messed up the surgery or the Texans electing to go the fast route so he could come back faster is why Clowney is having complications with his knee...??? This could be a case of the Texans screwing up their #1 pick who they shouldn't of drafted in the 1st place.

Good thing for the Texans is they're probably not going to have to worry about paying both Clowney and J.J... Clowney might be had for a very reasonable price if he doesn't fall apart by then.

He's been injured a lot. So far he is a bust until proven otherwise.
