I think the Clippers should have held out for OJ Mayo, but Doc Rivers has always said that JJ Redick has been a thorn by his side everytime the Celtics faced him (Bucks or Magic). If it weren't for CP3 to make his decision early, he's enabled the Clippers to start making these moves and getting ahead of the ball to complete their roster. Whoever gets Howard will have been disadvantaged by waiting for him and will end up getting the remaining scraps for role players. As a long shot theory, it's possible the Clippers are collecting shooters (JJ Redick, Jared Dudley, and Reggie Bullock) to put together the team that best fits Dwight Howard. There's still a possibility that Doc will want to swap Griffin for Howard. They are also trying to lock in Carl Landry to play the PF spot. Of course they should also move DeAndre if such a trade happens.
The clippers aren't trading Griffin. As overrated as a player as he is, to his fan boys he can do no wrong and has that Derek Jeter biracial angel effect.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWsUxkpv2_k
