Blake is going to have a ton of space down low. He's gotten better in the post every year, hopefully he makes a similar improvement this year.
While dudley and JJ are not as talented as Bledsoe and Butler, they are a better fit for a Chris Paul run offense. The shooters will let Paul roam around freely. If the team cheats off of other players to help on Paul, he will find them for open looks. However it does hurt them on defense as their team stands.
I still don't understand why Reddick had to be traded through a S&T. Did the Bucks just get 2 free second round picks?
I get the upside of what the Clips and Suns are doing. Someone please explain to me wth Milwaukee's thinking? Ellis opted out, Jennings presumably asking for the max, a 4-5 man PF rotation with similar skill-sets, practically no back court rotation to speak of, and it seems like they're getting pennies to the dollar on their trades from last season to the this off season so far. They should just salvage a few PF and just blow the rest up for the Wiggins lotto. Also, how's their GM still employed? What a mess.
If Milwaukee is smart they should be in full tank mode for Wiggins/Parker/Gordon. Hopefully thats what their GM is doing. 2 second rounders for a guy who didnt want to be there in the first place isnt terrible.
Love this deal for the Clippers. They got younger and added snipers. Paul will be giving them open looks all season and this gives Blake more room to operate. The Clips now have an elite PG, all-star talent on the block, deadly snipers, a rim-protector, a stud 6th man, and a perimeter defender. At this point I'm not sold on Lamar Odom anymore, so if DeAndre improves (unfortunately, no reason to think he will) or they can find some other big to shore up the roster, that's a really good rotation. Plus they got Doc now. If it all works, they could be challenging the Thunder for the top spot in the West next season. I'm not a big Bledsoe guy. He didn't produce when Paul went down last year for a stretch, but we can finally see what he's about. Not sure what they're going to do with Dragic, but I'm sure Bledsoe is going to start somewhere. Bucks? Just a routine tanking operation. can't blame em.
I thought the same too. Bledsoe for Kevin Garnett, instead of Bledsoe for JJ Redick. Steep dropoff Though Boston wanted Bledsoe, Deandre Jordan AND 2 first round picks for Kevin Garnett and filler. Which the Clippers rejected. But the secondary parts made it add up much more than the primary players. Also that trade was originally part of the Doc Rivers/Garnett deal that the league stopped from happening, lot more complicated than it looks on the surface. So this might be closer to the worth that Bledsoe HIMSELF actually is (like the Bledsoe/Arron Afflalo proposed deal)
It's weird there are people who seem to think that if Gogi is on the block Daryl may be interested in him. Morey let him go because he does not give out player options. Gogi still has a player option on the 4th year of his deal. So long as he has that contract, he isn't going to be on Morey's radar.
lol and the Rockets think getting D12 will mean they can beat this beast team. i always thought Barnes was the weak link on their team, now with JJ and Dudley their offense just got deadlier. Now with Doc i wouldnt be surprised if they end up top 3 or even top 2. very deep very strong in both speed, defense, athleticism, now coaching and deeper bench.
The player option issue was about flexibility to get that franchise player. They were selling it as 3yr plan but luckily for all the opportunity to get Harden cut that short. Now they're in win mode I don't think it matters as much to Morey as seen here previously: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=148186 It's all about redistributing the $ at PG which is a soft market to fit in another star player. Dragic's 7.5M/yr to Lin's 8.37M/yr cap hit doesn't help Morey achieve that.
Bucks werent going to get anything. JJ was going to walk, so this way they get compensation from otherwise nothing else without breaking the bank.
With Dwight/Smith. Clippers OKC Houston and San Antonio are the top 4, and probably by some margin, and in the East you'd have Miami, Indiana, Chicago and the Nyets.
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA 20m For Bucks part, Redick planned to leave and GM John Hammond was able to grab two picks into sign-and-trade. Bucks never had shot at Bledsoe. So...everyone who said, "The Bucks could have had Bledsoe!" No. Nope. Nah.
good for the suns , build around Bledsoe and Len , tank for wiggins trade Dragic because he cant play SG and get more draft picks
