The kid's ceiling is through the roof!

Even in limited time last season, I felt that he had a natural feel of the game on both ends of the floor. He's definitely not a stiff. And he looks like he's not like many of the "high potential" guys who play basketball only because they are tall and athletic. I think he can turn out to be a very special player. I hope Morey doesn't treat him just as a trade chip.

I just hope people will learn that his name contains just the one L in it.

He is going to be a beast

We need Deke to train with this guy now. He already has the shot blocking and rebounding, maybe Mutombo can transfer some of his defensive instincts. Capellla is going to be a huge reserve for us this year. Perfect Dwight backup.

Cuban must have been grinding his teeth watching Capela. Another great find by Morey. I've been tempted to call the kid Swiss Chocolate. Clint looks sweet out there!

I have to admit when I first saw Capela play last season, I thought he was a good three years away from contributing to the team. The dude is proving me wrong and then some.

He seems to have a excellent nose for the ball in rebounding, and is a great finisher at the rim in transition. And above all, he has a ton of poise out there. Nothing seems to phase him.

If Capela continues to develop at this rate and Dwight shows more injuries, the ball will be in our court next off season if Dwight demands $30MM a year.

Just let him walk and go get Durant with the absolute max or a stud PF

    Lawson
    Harden
    Ariza
    Durant
    Capela

It's not who signs players like Chandler Parsons, it's who finds them.

Do you think he is just as explosive as he was in the playoffs? I would love to see him flush a hard dunk like he did on Hawes.

Pretty sure he can even top that when it counts

But not much motivation or urgency in a meaningless pre season game

Mutombo was a great defensive player. This kids remind me much of him with how he rebound and move, except with much more grace and already a much smoother offensive player in his ability to catch, finish and pass. If he can reach Mutombo level of defense, watch out.

To me, he's nothing like Mutombo. Mutombo hawked the weakside and knew how to rebound.

Capella is an incredible athlete, quick laterally, and can defend the wing. Unlike Mutombo, Capella has the ability to go out and guard a Lamarcus Aldridge.

I would concentrate less on beefing him up and more on turning him into a freak all-around defender. We've never really seen very many players so tall, long but also quick laterally so it's easy to want to put him into a different box.

Let him do what he does. Keep him slim and agile.

What Capela special is not his size, it's that he has GREAT hands and doesn't need to gather himself for jumps, dunks, and layups at all. He moves on the catch and dribble. That is something that all great bigs have and what limited even guys like Mutombo and Yao on the offensive side of the ball.

I don't know much about his shooting touch, but Capela is SPECIAL. He will be a rookie max guy in 3 years, and if he develops any one on one offensive skills, he could end up a super max guy when it is done.

WTF are they doing to these players in RGV?

Seems like this little farm system thing is paying off major dividends quicker and quicker.
