He developed so much is so quickly last year. If he keeps it up by the time the playoffs come around he is going to be an absolute monster
Oh ok I get it, you're ignorant on purpose. I was under the impression that you didnt know any better. Welcome to my ignore list bub, its your permanent stop
I like that he seems humble, especially since he's young and it's just a preseason game against second stringers.
I'm in Dallas and the game was blacked out so couldn't watch it. Can anyone speak to how much of this was Capela's improvement vs the level of competition he was facing in the front court vs the Mavs?
I'm usually cautiously optimistic about young prospects. Capela is the first guy in a long time that has me unbelievably hyped. I knew he was a high upside guy when we drafted him, but I thought he was 2-3 years from being a rotation guy (remember they wanted to stash him)! The sky is the limit for him. I think he's got a shot to be a star.
He went up against some veteran back-up centers in Dalembert and Pachulia. They had a combined 12 pts (on 45% shooting), 12 rebs, 2 blks, 1 stl, and 1 ast in 36 minutes. Capela had 12 pts (on 57% shooting), 14 rebs, 1 blk, 1 stl, and 1 ast in 24 minutes. So he was better than both of their centers combined.
Seeing Capela play like this is extremely encouraging going into the season. Constantly having a rim protector in the game is huge and when the rockets rebound well they usually win. Hopefully he keeps it up.
Was he able to catch passes in the paint or passes rolling to the basket fairly easily? And if he did get those passes was he decisive with his actions right after? I know from last season what I saw he was fairly good at it and want to know if he's gotten more comfortable with it.
He was great at catching the ball when rolling to the basket. He did struggle a little when trying to receive the ball on post-ups, but a large part of that is our guards and wings aren't very good at the post entry pass.

He tries to troll, but he's too stupid to do it well. It is more about quantity over quality, so everyone is better off just blocking him.
