Capela still sitting on a hilariously awful -22.46 PER..... http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3102529/clint-capela
LOL McHale is NO NONSENSE! Hey he gave Parsons the keys to the kingdom over Budinger, so he has it in him. But if doesn't see it yet, your a** is on the pine. Even as good as D-Mo is now, McHale made him sit. That has a lot to do with why this thread exists! Capela can only get his minutes by the second, in scrappy moments with other saucer-eyed guys hyperventilating on adrenaline.
I don't really have a problem with McHale. Not a huge fan of him, but I still think he's a decent coach. But I don't agree with "laughing" at a question like that. It's kind of demoralizing for Capela to hear that.
So you want your coach to sugarcoat for a rookie whose having a -22 per and never scored in this league yet?
So I guess I never thought of this, but if you get to the game after it starts, are you then ineligible? Basically what I'm asking is, can we fly Clint into the Toyota Center on a zip line to sub in?
If he can put up these numbers : 17-27, 17 REB, 35 PTS like he did 2 nights ago, sure, Morey will ask NASA to send a plane to pick him up and drop him off on TC.
Man I was just looking at that box score. Wallop of a game. 35 pts 15 boards 6 blocks 2 steals, only 3 TOs. He's kinda forcing himself up to the Rockets bench, whether McHale is ready or not...he's limited on choices.
Actually I watched some of this game in youtube, he was not that impressive as the number shown. Dwight Powell had similar points scored as Capela but he outplayed him. Capela still got a long way to go. McHale is right on about his expectation.
Its not about his stats or his per, its about him being a rookie who wont get here until 7pm who hasn't practiced with the team while in the middle of a fight for seeding in the playoffs. Of course he shouldn't see any time tonight unless it is a blowout, it wasnt a shot at Capela's potential.
Tomorrow, it goes down. Honestly, if I'm the Raptors tomorrow -- I go right at Josh and Joey every chance I get. Get those two in quick foul trouble (Joey will probably do this on his own, bless his heart) and we're cooked.
