It's cognitive bias. He is crazy. He doesn't want to know the truth and somehow has become brainwashed to believe that climate change is not real. Doesn't matter if 95% of climate scientists are saying climate change is real and something we need to do something about. He will say it's just them making it up to get money. Doesn't matter than all the anti-climate effort is funded by energy companies. Doesn't matter that there is no real incentive behind the "climate movement" other than saving humanity from destruction. Doesn't matter that there is tons and tons of reports and evidence about warming and it's connection to man-made Co2 that has been put into threads on this forum ad nauseum Nothing matter. If you post actual data, he will find a reason to spin it to fit his narrative that it's all a lie or actually supports his cause. Doesn't matter he is not a scientist because he knows better than a scientist with his 6th grade math skills. This guy is simply hopeless. He has no interest in knowing the truth because he is scared of it. So it's all confirmation bias. Nothing can change his mind. Simply put, it is a waste of precious human mental energy to engage him (or her) in debate.
Yes because they are not looking to debate and learn, they are looking to shore up their fragile reality.
If you want to be his research underling, go ahead. I am not playing his game. Cite your source or quit posting. Thanks.
And why can't you research it yourself? Why are coming on CF to learn about climate change? Just be honest, you aren't looking for answers. Otherwise you'd already find them on your own.
LOL. I am not sure what kind of tactic this is. Did I make the claim that the oceans are running out of oxygen? No. I did not make that claim. Now, go be a good research assistant and fetch some kind of evidence for Sweet Lou.
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/2015GB005310/abstract If you don't want to pay the $6, you can look at the media articles http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/ocean-s-oxygen-starts-running-low/ Go ahead and find your reason to dismiss these articles. We are waiting.
Do you not know how to verify whether or not something is true? It seems every forum has a person like you, someone that requires someone else to "prove" this and that. Just admit you don't care about evidence.
Lastly, did that poster claim that the oceans are "running out of oxygen" or that it is merely decreasing? Folks like you use a lot of hyperbole....
Hyperbole is a tool. If Sweet Lou can call the NOAA a Koch brother funded organization then I should be able to skew his point. This is after all a political subforum.
The Pacific NW had good snow in the higher elevations for the first time in 4 years (thanks El Nino), but it was only above 5,000 feet or so. Still, we were thinking it was enough to give us a "normal" fire season in terms of duration. Then, we had a hot April and record snowmelt across the region. Oh well.
The NOAA? By the way, you didn't react to the article I posted - did you read it? Or are you simply refusing to educate yourself?
Surprised no one posted this, yet. You guys do use social media, right? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Spiralling global temperatures from 1850-2016 (full animation) <a href="https://t.co/YETC5HkmTr">https://t.co/YETC5HkmTr</a> <a href="https://t.co/Ypci717AHq">pic.twitter.com/Ypci717AHq</a></p>— Ed Hawkins (@ed_hawkins) <a href="https://twitter.com/ed_hawkins/status/729753441459945474">May 9, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
So then you don't care about evidence, you care more about how it is presented so you can attack that? You are very transparent.
After not responding to multiple request to provide some kind of evidence - yes, I no longer care about evidence. At this point it has become very obvious to anyone that Sweet Lou is a troll. Or should I say New Yorker is a troll?

Record low in Cincinnati last night. There were records tied or broken in upstate New York, Chicago, and elsewhere in the upper midwest.
