Man, I wonder if Lebron didn't realize the letter was still up until the media caught wind of it being taken down.
I was thinking the same thing, but you have to imagine that if the letter were still up, that the media would have made a story out of that too. Dan Gilbert dun goofed by not taking it down the moment the Heat won that title. If not way sooner.
The media was definitely making fun of the letter (and the fact that it was still posted) in the early days of FA, so if he didn't know before, he surely knew eventually.
I think Lebron is, but I also think it's the last bastion of argument the media have for Miami. The letter angle hasn't seem to be quoted out of the Lebron camp at all.
Wouldn't it be crazy if he announced he was retiring and all of us idiots are thinking cleveland or miami?
Lebron owes an apology but Gilbert doesn't? First, Lebron has already stated numerous times the Decision was a mistake and bad idea. But it was within his right to move as a FA and not a direct affront to Gilbert. Gilbert wrote a scathing and personally insulting letter for the world to see and from interviews doesn't really regret it. My guess though is they've already reached some mutual understanding behind the scenes; they aren't going to be best friends but maybe agree to be professionals. As I've said in another thread, as a Cleveland fan it sucks having two mega a-holes for owners in Cleveland. Browns being the other (I have no idea and don't care about baseball or the Indians).
Come on man. He knew somebody in his circle must have been telling trough the years. Specially when he won those championships.
Brian "Jonah Hill" Windhorst (I believe?) explained that the letter had actually been taken down years ago but the URL had remained. Don't know the truth of it.
