Should add them in a offer come deadline to move Capela for a defensive center and wing. Just saying...
Exactly. This is pissing me off If you don't play thing in OCT and NOV don't be pissed when they cannot do **** in April and May Rocket River
So true, every other team gives its developing players minutes early in the season when things are lower stakes . If they play well, then maybe they are given a small role to work on and can be called on to step up throughout the season if there are injuries. We seem to only give young players a shot when the journeyman we brought in shows he cant play. At that point , whether the player looks good or bad, the minutes are inconsistent. If that player ever hits a shooting slump , MDA prefers to shorten the rotation vs let that player work through it. MDA ' i dont play bad rookie's " MDA also " if the game is tight my natural reaction is to go small and play 7 guys." the rockets player development strategy has been shitty for a few years. The days of practice , having young guys feel like they are a part of the team, and letting young players get spot minutes are long gone. Instead we ship you to the G-league and you jack up as many 3's as disgusting to prepare for your role of stand in the corner and wait for James. I guess it IS efficient , we don't have many plays to practice.... we certainly don't practice any defense.
I’d absolutely love to see Gary Clark out there right now. He was grabbing some serious boards in preseason, and was a monster on defense in College. Let’s give him one more look next to PJ...
Tonight would have been the perfect opportunity. We had blown the game in the first quarter. He should have played them in the 3rd and 4th quarters.
Gary Clark and Hartenstein aren’t very good. Clark is a horrendous shooter and Hartenstein just isn’t talented enough. When a team doesn’t have first round picks the young depth is thin usually. They will likely give Clemmons a shot like they did House and we will see what happens. MDA will never be confused with Popovich for player development but he has developed some young players and the issue with our young players is that they are not very good.
agree with our Picks , its clear at this point the organization prefers to trade them when they are in "contend" mode. However, MDA did not give Harrell a chance in the postseason , despite Harrell looking very solid throughout the year. When nene went down, instead of expand his rotation and give a shot to a young player , he played 7 guys.
I'd have dumped Hartenstein and Anderson for anything I could get … just to open up two roster spots to make moves with the TPE's. Clark , I still have a small amount of hope that he can be an NBA player.
D’Antoni and our entire front office absolutely 100% underestimated how much of a beast Montrezl Harrell is.
Harrell played the same amount of minutes the year after we traded him... so it isn’t as if he instantly broke out.
Morey said he didn’t want to trade him but had to in order to complete the Paul trade. The Clippers didn’t realize how good he was either, as they played him the same minutes that the Rockets did. It was the year after they bumped his minutes from 18-27.
Morey actually said in an interview he was sad that he had to trade some of the guys we ended up moving in the Paul trade and specifically said "especially Trez" so, i think at least him, really liked what he saw from the player, which isn't even shocking since he drafted him in the first place.
