Let this be a lesson to all those who bite hard on every bit of insider info. We should be gracious for their generosity, but understand that they are more akin to weather forecasters than professor X. Either way, thanks to all those involved. This community wouldn't be the same without you.
While only idiots blindly believe every insider info comes true, it is still a fan's inclination to cling to any positive hope. I for one appreciate every insider we have!
The Rockets have re-signed Francisco Garcia. It's a two-year, $3.5 million deal for Garcia. Per rotoworld via elcaribe http://www.elcaribe.com.do/2014/08/12/garcia-acuerda-con-houston-por-dos-anos
In my experience, Rotoworld pulls their stories from other news sources and is usually legit. When they add their opinion, they lose some credibility.... but the factual part they usually get right. That being said, el Caribe looks to be a Dominican website. It carries some weight as Cisco is representing the DR right now. I would still wait on the Chronicle to confirm, but it looks legit.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Aaron Goodwin, agent for Francisco Garcia, says report of his client agreeing to deal with Rockets is false. "There's no agreement reached."</p>— Chris Haynes (@ChrisBHaynes) <a href="https://twitter.com/ChrisBHaynes/statuses/500313641263300608">August 15, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Sure, the agreement is not there, but he said in that interview he is going back so it's just a matter of getting the right deal for both parties. He already said for 1 year so I guess it's not just a dollars game and maybe no-trade clause. Rockets owe him big time so they should give him a nice deal.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Welcome back to the <a href="https://twitter.com/HoustonRockets">@HoustonRockets</a> Francisco Garcia! It was great to see him play well yesterday.</p>— Daryl Morey (@dmorey) <a href="https://twitter.com/dmorey/statuses/502584306649563136">August 21, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
That rules out a S&T. I wonder why his agent came out to deny the deal? Was Morey trying to move Covington? I guess Covington gets waived now.
