It's about time Disney's best villainess was spotlighted..... however, while Jolie seems to hit on at least one note of the original Maleficent's multifariously layered malevolent voice decently enough... Thus far... I'm not entirely buying the look they're going for....

It's pretty good, but the acting is a bit weak, even from Jolie. A different point of view on the story you thought you knew.

    It's OK.

    SwoLy rating: :) (7/10). It's a "chick" flick.

    REAL SPOILER:
They basically change a few things from the 'story' and add a few scenes that, in my opinion, aren't needed. For example, we could do without the The Ring - like narrator

So anyone else think she looks better than ever in that movie?

This should be watched in 3d.

Just haven't been able to muster up any interest in this flick, looks like Snow White and the Huntsman which was awful.

This movie looked bad ass in 3d when I watched spiderman. If not for that preview I wouldn't have any interest in this one.

^ Yeah, unfortunately, those previews have the best 3D animations. The entire movie didn't.
Maybe it was the screen where we watched it or the glasses we used, but it wasn't all that spectacular. The flying scenes are probably the only ones that are good. Everything else, like nearby objects and distant landscapes at a standstill, are not all that neatly rendered or gracefully created. It looks like they just added colors and details but fails with both.

The acting in this one is really bad, save for maybe
only Aurora and Maleficent. The king is extremely weak from beginning to end. Jolie's English accent goes in and out... reminiscent of a Kevin Costner in Robin Hood.

It was better than I expected. The 3D was the best I've seen by far. I didn't enjoy or prefer the 3D versions of Gravity or Prometheus.

Angelina Jolie looks like her man, that's nuts.

Not only does Jolie look like Maleficent, she sounds just like her too. She had some scenes in the movie that felt a little forced and a tad awkward but, overall, I think she portrayed the 'villain' quite well.

    8/10 (for Jolie's portrayal)
    9/10 (for the movie itself)

Watched it earlier at the Silverado imax in 3d. I had my son and daughter with me and they enjoyed it. It was a bummer for me ad I thought I was going to see some lord of the rings action. 42 buck just for the tickets. I'm sticking with the greenspoint theater. Same ****.

I saw a movie at the Silverado. Lots of lifted Ford and Chevy trucks with TAMU stickers in that parking lot. Aside from the people, fun place. I guess that theater is like the pinnacle of the suburbs? Where seniors go for prom and young couples have wedding receptions?
