But maybe I just need to face the facts: this is a grin and bear it year for the Nuggets. Once we traded Marcus Camby we sent with him any notions of contending for a title this season. The aforementioned $10 million trade exception acquired in the Camby trade this past summer is probably more valuable once Iverson's $20 million contract comes off the books next summer. Been saying this all summer, even before they gave away Camby. For me, keeping George Karl as coach was the signal the Nuggets weren't serious about winning during this coming season. Since Karl has one foot out the door, may as well put him through the misery instead of wasting money by hiring a new coach and paying Karl for nothing. Next summer they will bring in a new coach and try to make a splash in the FA market. Chucky Atkins is the kind of guy that could help a team in a limited role but injuries have derailed his career of late. You can probably stick a fork in him now.

Funny guy. Funny, funny guy. Agreed 100%. Sad about Chucky though. He's had a lot of problems, I was hoping he could put it together and be a solid contributor this season.
