Chuck needs to find a place that will pay him, and give him more years, don't play for Captain LowBall, Daryl Morey. DD
So now, Chuck has no heart issue? http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7...s-no-problem-failed-sacramento-kings-physical
Go back to a team who just voided his contract. No way I'd do that. And they might not even be allowed to void then resign.
Not sure how the mechanics works exactly, but I'm pretty sure the Rockets had to renounce their rights to Chuck (and the associated cap hold) in order to have the cap room to sign Sam. The one other way i can see it get done (not sure possible given the maneuvers that were already done) is to sign Chuck using the Bird Rights, then do a S&T with the Kings for Dalembert using the Battier TPE. Of course, the Kings probably isn't inclined to help Houston sign the two big guys that they've been targeting. Anyhow, my guess: Chuck either goes back to the Kings (if he is cleared to play, why not get him back) or goes to Minny to work for Rick Adelman if they still have cap room.

I think that the Rockets would have had to renounce Bird Rights to Hayes (even if he never signed with Sacramento) to get the cap room to sign Dalembert. And, I don't think we have any space under the cap left. Bima's old estimate was $7.8m, and we signed Dalembert for $7m. Given that we've also signed a number of guys like Parsons and Adrien, I think we're now flat-busted and probably can't offer anything more than the minimum to Chuck. Not that it's relevant here, but I guess the Sammy signing also means the Battier TPE was renounced.
But this is hypothetical scenario to say we wouldn't have signed both. And it assumes same salaries. Besides, this delay caused us to miss the Amnesty deadline to keep both. point is: you cannot allow a team to burned someones Bird Rights like that by a FALSE DIAGNOSIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This isn't about the Rockets, this is about the players CBA RIGHTS!!!!!!!!!! to have Bird Rights. This is a union issue. I'm furious.
It is not about us. It is about a union members rights to have Bird Rights! The Kings cannot burn his rights like that. How can the league allow a player to lose his Bird Rights on a miss diagnosis.
oh and another thing....the league voided the Pau deal which was tied to us losing Hayes. Now the Kings void Hayes Bird Rights...so now we can't sign him? If so, we and Hayes got screwed twice. Had Morey known the Pau deal was not a possibility, who is to say he would not have signed both Hayes and Dalembert. think about it.
do you hear youself? Morey did not cause this! This is an unfortunate series of event for the rockets.
SpearsNBAYahoo Marc J. Spears Free agent big man Chuck Hayes tells Y! Sports that while Kings will get strong consideration he is "back at square one" free agency wise.
If Chuck's willing to sign for two years, flip Flynn and Jordan to a good team in need of depth for a TE and a lottery protected 1st rounder...
