Depending on how the Rockets feel about the long term health of D-Mo and Jones, there may be some interest.

We are in win now mode. That's why none of these young guys could stick unless they could show some potential to be useful in a short time.

So whoever they sign now as the 15th player, it won't be a project. It will have to be an insurance kind of veteran. Chuck is as good as anyone to be an insurance. And he is valuable even when he's not playing.

Ive got to admit that I havent seen Hayes since he last played in a Rockets uniform but does he have anything left to his game? We obviously need help guarding PF's and he used to give guys fits in the post. He never let them have the position they wanted and he constantly got under the opponents skin.

Can he do anything with guys like Aldridge, Griffin, Z-Bo, etc?

It will be a lot better than what Jones, Dmo, et. all can do.

I want hayes back after what we saw what aldridge did to us on friday night . Imagine if we throw hayes on aldridge for 25 minutes. We'd crush the spurs

Hayes is not that Hayes any more. Clippers even put Prigioni over him.

Hayes is not a serviceable player anymore.

Maurice Taylor would have been good right now.

From a technical stand point you just don't play better defense than that. So strong and so technically sound. If Chuck was just a couple of inches taller he would be DPOY candidate annually.

Wow, I don't know what your definition of serviceable is but if you think Chuck isn't serviceable than they should just stop playing defense in the NBA all together.

I'm lazy. Anything holding back the Rockets from signing Hayes with that remaining roster spot with the minimal salary the Rockets have left to give under the hard cap?

Or are we assuming that Morey values that little bit of wiggle room under the hard cap to bring in a tad bit more salary in a potential trade?

Thanks, Knote for the vid. That's the defense we need out of our 4 spot. Can Hayes deliver that for 30 mpg & 82 games? NO! I'd settle for 5-8 minutes in crunch time though. Also Hayes can teach that to our bigs & be a locker room leader.
