The argument about Chuck's D is kinda like the argument about Shane's D-- do they do any worse than a "regular sized PF" in guarding the star post players? I suspect the answer is no, not within the defensive concept of the Rockets. When Battier or Hayes is defending a post player whose size they can't handle 1-on-1, the Rockets will send all kind of help via either a big C behind them, or some quick wing players going in for the strip and rely on proper rotation/recovery to limit open jumpers. It's pretty much how the Rockets had played over the last few years-- not like Juwan, Mo T, Cato, Padgett didn't need a ton of help at the 4 spot-- the only difference is that the wing defenders are bigger and faster now than before, and hopefully smarter, too. For those of you who thinks Cato didn't need help at the 4, look back at the videos again.. he was a decent defensive big man, but was more of a 5 than a 4 and often too slow to match up against some of the quicker bigs.
