For those that do not think Amar'e can not learn to play D, I have to remind them that the same thing was thought about McGrady until he played for JVG.

The entire team plays D, I am betting that attitude rubs off on Amar'e, and not the other way around. Still think Amar'e would be a great fit on the team, starting at PF and backup C. Especially with Scola/Dorsey backing him up at PF.

just how much money do you think that contract is going to give us?

from reading your post, it sounds like you think we will have 23M...which is a figure that has been debunked for months here....7-8M off the cap max.

There are too many people out there that think real life is NBA Live where making trades is so much fun and easy. I think most people want us to make a move JUST for sake of change and something new, even if it doesnt benefit us not just now but down the road.

I wrote this in another thread but I'm going to write this again...this year was suppose to be a failure! Everything we've done this season and every win we obtain till the end of it has been a bonus! We have no stars, but a damn good team of role players, Morey knows that and is waiting for the RIGHT star to insert into this team. Whether that be resigning Yao, or resigning Yao and bringing in X player, or sitting on T-Mac's contract and letting it expire and letting Yao go to sign X and Y players...WHO KNOWS?

Morey isn't taking the Drayton McLane Houston Astros approach and I'm HAPPY about that. After the World Series run the Astros were stuck with a mediocre roster that was filled with holes all over the place way too many to plug and be legit contenders for a championship. Well due to alot of late season overachieving year in and year out that left the playoffs just on the outside of the playoffs, Astros brass felt they could contend and gutted their youth and their organizational future to bring in a few guys they thought could plug up the holes. Well they didn't, and not only did they constantly miss the playoffs, because of said moves they are stuck in the deep hole of terribleness they are now. Right now the Rockets are overachieving, which is great and all, but Morey isn't going to trade away key pieces in his/the team's overall/future plans, for bad contract guys or rentals just so we have a CHANCE at making the playoffs.

There are alot of deep, talented teams in the NBA this year and I think we are "fortunate" that we aren't TRULY in the mix this year for a title. Let the big dogs duke it out and beat each other up, and let their older stars age another year. And we'll be back when the time is right (I'm thinking NEXT YEAR).

Nothing in-depth or insightful in the article. A good, medium range writeup with a little opinion an analysis tossed in. I'm not the biggest Justice critic but good job for once.

I'd trade for him. I'd personally build the stocks to put him in and grow the tomatoes/ cast the bricks that will be thrown at him once he's in.

This is wrong. McGrady first got his playing time in Toronto as a defensive specialist. McGrady knew how to play defense. He had to balance his game out after becoming the focal point on offense in Orlando

Our filler would most LIKELY have to be Brooks or Landry...

(Not really. But the Rockets people I talk to always said there would be nothing until Wednesday or Thursday, and surely they knew the Dallas thing was coming down. That seems to indicate they are still working on the deal(s) they have been. -- Jonathan)

We would of won it if WE decided to let McGrady shut it down during the allstar break (Knee and Shoulder problems).

if tmac followed the rehab regiment prescribed by his doctor during the offseason, he wouldn't have needed to shut it down at all last season.

but thats a discussion for another thread.

I really do not think that any trade we could have made would have vaulted us into some top contender spot. I believe what he says that making a bad trade can be worse than making no trade at all. If we can not get decent value from trading T-Mac, we should just let his contract expire and hope we can land someone in the offseason.

I would really like to see Danilo come here since NY wants T-Mac so badly.

Really? First, Tracy still sucked on D. Second, we don't even have JVG.

i doubt comments like mine are the reason he decided to rehab after this surgery. you wanna know what made him rehab this time? his expiring contract.
