http://www.29-95.com/time-suck/story/houstons-playboy-auditions The women trickle into the second floor conference room at The Westin Hotel in Memorial City with bulging tote bags full of makeup and lingerie in tow. After filling out a form and taking a seat, they wait for their names to be called before they are ushered into another room where they will undress in front of a team of complete strangers. For everyone involved, the stakes are high. Somewhere in this group of lawyers, mothers and bartenders might be the next Playboy Playmate. Over the next two days Playboy staffers will photograph and interview hundreds of candidates in hopes of finding -- cliche as it sounds -- "the girl next door," as Stacy Collins, executive editor of Playboy special editions, put it. "It's the same thing Heff was looking for 50 years ago," she said. "It's confidence and the ability to express sensuality. It's the girl who doesn't know she's the stunner in the room." The 109th Playboy Casting call drew candidates from all over the country and even Canada. Some women flew in for the day, others packed up their makeup and drove all night to get to Houston. "I said 'baby, you can run with the big boys,'" said Robbie Wright, 50, of Nacogdoches, who accompanied her 25-year-old daughter, Rebekah, to the casting call. Rebekah Wright, an attractive mother of two who is getting her pre-law degree at the University of Texas Dallas and hopes to practice criminal law one day, said her mother's support was invaluable. "She even helped me shop for the lingerie," she noted, moments before she stripped it off for the cameras, revealing a bright red snake tattooed across her hip. "We argued about what looked best." Playboy staffers said they expect more than 200 women to attend this weeks casting call before it closes Wednesday afternoon. "Texas has always been Playboy friendly," said executive producer Jeff Cohen, who started casting calls about a decade ago. "You've got a lot of men's clubs, great weather and a lot of beautiful women." From the site, I'll post only the good ones....there weren't very many to choose from, but they aight. - Like the mother encouraging the daughter.
It's definitely not the BEST Houston has to offer, but unfortunately the BEST of Houston that is willing .
Funny, thats Sandy Garza, who has been in Playboy ALREADY through their website and even a few PB Special Editions. Wonder why she's there, unless she's representing them, not trying out. Met her at the Sportsradio 610's FanFest back in June, cool chick, very active on her Twitter
