I don't understand the issue. Apparently Dwight has already demonstrated a great post game prior to coming here, something that conventional wisdom has seemingly ignored, but CF has affirmed. Orlando/SVG brought this out of him I assume, so the Rockets' elite coaching staff, assembled by Morey, should have no problem doing this. I'm sure these 'kinks' will be worked out easily, if they actually exist.

This problem is not just with the rockets, but with the majority of teams in the NBA today. The art of the post entry pass is just not something that you see in todays game.

We had problems getting Yao the ball when he was fronted even tho I was standing and screaming at the TV about how to get him the ball.

Its not as simple as just putting the guy with the highest assist at the rim % out on the floor with him, but actually getting everyone on the floor and learning the correct way to pass to a post player.

And for god's sake QUIT FREAKING THROWING BOUNCE PASSES TO THE BIGS WHILE THEY ROLL TO THE BASKET!

Find it amusing that people are upset about offensive issues when the team true shooting % after four exhibition games would be eighth all time were it a player's career's percentage. The attention that Dwight is getting is opening things up for everybody. Yeah, the team still has some kinks to work out with incorporating Dwight in the offense, but those issues will work out over time, and the team's offense overall already looks excellent.

Yeah, that's not the point. Basically everybody but Dwight is doing well. That leads to an unhappy Dwight and an unhappy Dwight just happens to be one of the biggest headaches in the NBA. Therefore the Rockets need to learn how to past to the post in order to keep Dwight (You know...our BIG free agent acquisition) happy.

This is exactly the reason in another thread arguing who will be the starting PG that I said whoever can get the ball to Dwight. The success of this team in the next a few seasons will rely on how this team can use Dwight on offensive end.

Doesn't make a difference if Dwight can't hit little 2 foot hook shots or bunnies. He misses them way too often.

Forget FT shooting, that's okay. He can be 50%, that won't stop us from winning.

He has a poor post game, he has no touch and he really needs to work on that. I agree we need to address the fact we struggle to get him the ball, but he needs to address how he gets position and then the ACTUAL post game. It's non-existant.

As of right now, it's turn & face up, then drive by. That's fine & dandy, but he needs to be able to hit hooks going both ways, and be able to turn baseline depending on how the defense guards him. He doesn't have the grace to a face-up post player and be effective; he's too mechanical.

Why are they just now working on this?

Shouldn't this have been a point of emphasis from Day 1?

Has there been a line up with Brewer and Howard yet? Hands down some of the prettiest interior passes (and, in traffic, at high speed) I've noticed so far have been Brewer's.

His instinct for it is crazy

Remember how Aaron Brooks couldn't pass to Yao (or refuses to)?

Hopefully Lin or Beverly can pass to a fronted Dwight.

Oh, this is very cool. Inside footage of the Rockets Far East trip. It is like the Rockets in Manila thread on steroids. The Rockets on the plane, in the bus, at practice.

(Bev watched Breaking Bad on the flight.)

Most PGs can't get the angles to pass over or around defenses because they're usually 6-4 or under.

Are people really blaming the issues with Yao being fronted on the entry passes?....

Omer's going to run the elbow like a champ with out big line-up. Isn't he batting 1.000 from mid-range as a Rocket?

    McHale is clueless as usual.

Dwight should 70% pick and roll, 30% post up.

Simple as that, but right now we are seeing 80% post up which cause Dwight to struggle when the opposing center is not a scrub.

I think in a meaningless preseason game... It is wiser to let Dwight and the whole team practice post ups and passing to post players... if we can get this down properly, we will be unstoppable once season starts...

I thought guys passed the ball to Dwight just fine in the Taipei game. It's not right to blame them, Lin, Bev, Harden, Parsons all did fine. Dwight, on the other hand, has never been a great post up player and isn't one right now. Well, if it isn't work now maybe he'll come to realize it shouldn't be used so often. He is good but he's far from Dream, Shaqe or TD's level at the moment.
