That's good high expectations. It drove me nuts when many posters were rooting for the 1st pick in the Lottery, after T-Mac's back acted up and again when Yao went down. There were so many posts on Fire Gundy. I felt down too. I was expecting them to win, and it seemed that the GARM was telling me I was crazy and the Rockets weren't that good and had too many weaknesses.

They have about met my expectations.

I'd say they get out of the first round, home court or not, and then probably lose in the second round depending primarily on who they face

Phoenix is on pace to finish in 2nd place with 62 wins. You are disappointed this team is not going to win 63 games with Yao and TMac missing significant time??

The only measuring stick is the playoffs. We already know we will win 50+ every season as long as Yao and McGrady are there for the bulk of the games. The only thing they haven't done yet is advance in the playoffs.

Let's just try and get past the first round and we can build on that next season.

Any decent coach can win 50+ with Yao and Tmac....the playoffs will tell.

If JVG does not get them past the first round, he should go...

something like 32 or 33......and with Tmac running the show they were competitive.....

I give credit for them holding on and doing fairly well with Yao out.

I think that credit is mostly due to McGrady's leadership and his teammates stepping up to the plate to cover up for Yao's absence, although I am not denying JVG his fair share of this relative success.

I often reiterate that coaching is almost always overrated, but necessary. A coach is only as good as his players.

This team has honestly way surpassed my expectations as well. At the start of the season I wasn't sure if they would make the playoffs and thought for sure that if they did they would be first round fodder. Now I think we have a decent chance at beating the Jazz. Though I would have liked our chances much better had we gotten home court.

He has low expectations if this is surpassing his expectations. No way we are living up to expectations with our Western conference record sucking eggs.

Dude you won championships, act like it.

Marketing bull hockey. The season will be judged by playoff performance. The regular season will be forgotten starting 4/16.

"The postseason is the most important part of the season, how you do in postseason is how it should be judged on how the season went." -- Rockets owner Leslie Alexander, March 31, 2007

i agree with this, and if the rockets falter in the first round, hopefully it will be an early exit for JVG as well. 4 wins, 8 losses in the playoffs... not too successful if you ask me.

I am willing to bet that if we lose again in the first round -- homecourt or not -- JVG will be let go.

He should be anyhow. He's had 5 years and has nothing to show for it.
