Man, this summer is turning out to be pretty special in terms of talent added/acquired, and there is still a lot of time to go before the seasons kicks off. I am VERY excited about the new season...can hardly wait.
Great, this is one of the best rumors this summer. Yao and Scola are gonna be one of the deadly frontline in this league.
The only thing I am worried about scolar is his defense. Draftexpress said he is a defense liability in this year's euro league final 4. Hopefully they were wrong about his defense.
u dont worry about his D, He is a hard woker, energy guy with his size and experiences, u got a very good match up ther...
just watch, when we play Utah again next season, throw Scola at them. Boozer will get his ass all coverd up.. he is not going score that easy like he did this year when he against Yao at the Playoff..
If we play Utah again in the playoffs, Yao will still have to cover Boozer because the PF needs to go out and cover Okur. Unless you just want to bench our best player for that series. Everybody has to guard someone in a man-to-man defense.
he's pretty solid. i mean from what i saw, he's strong, powerful and big. he could be a good defender and he's not soft at all.
I don't see his defense as too much of a problem..i mean how bad could it be? im sure its avg, and thats good enough when you have 7'6 yao and a stud like battier..i think we will be fine
Because all the good ones are IN the NBA. Well in balance the guy is very promising. But whether he can give you 20+ minutes of consistent play in the NBA is an open question.
A lot of people have been over this, but the basic reason is because SA needed to move him quickly to save money because they could not sign him. They have a glut at four (Duncan's not going anywhere) and they wanted to be under the luxury tax. They tried to do a three-way deal involving Sacramento, but it feel through and in order for a deal to get done before the 15th (the deadline for Scola to sign a deal keeping him in Spain for the next 5 years), they had to move fast. The Rockets were able to give them a player who will never play in the league and a future draft pick. Neither will cost the Spurs anything allowing them to get under the luxury tax. Bottom line is that they were out of options and the Rockets made the most sense.
