Damn Boki surprised me last night. My jaw dropped when he hit that first 3. This is only one game, so I'm not going to start saying we were wrong. But I hope for the teams sake he can bring that same game everynight and hit a couple 3's to average 9 or 10 pts a game. I would love to have him as our spark off the bench. Still hes sucked every game except this so hes going to have to do this consistantly for a month or two to convince me.
After last night's game, I see the Rockets fell right into Boki's devious trap. He's obviously been planning this since he was drafted. He plays piss-poor for 2 seasons -- only showing just enough spark to keep from getting cut -- so that his team option will be declined. Now that it has been, he'll blow up and play himself into a max deal a year earlier than he could have with the team option and without the Rockets right of first refusal dragging his market value down. Rockets got played. But at least he'll kick ass for us for a year.
Thats one way to look at it or maybe just MAYBE he is coming around after all the practice and coaching by the refs but hey wat do i know lol
Actually, I think we get his Bird rights - so we will be able to pay enough to keep him if we want to. This is probably fairest for both parties. In Boozer's case, he was a second round pick and a two-year veteran so they couldn't match the offer.
You're right that we have his Bird Rights, but I'm fairly sure that he will be an unrestricted free agent. I think when you decline the fourth year option, you also decline your right of first refusal. So, even if we could and do match doesn't mean he has to come back. Btw, who was being sarcastic? Samar? .
Well, I love Boki, but he hasn't show his potential, whether that's JVG's or RudyT's fault, who knows... I think he'll have a break out year if given the chance...
