Wow, I thought getting Howard was a pipe-dream. No way we're landing Griffin. He isn't leaving LA.

I don't believe this. If DM's actually interviewing Sampson, we're taking a departure into the abyss. Or is this some sort of diversionary tactic? Makes no sense. DO NOT WANT!

It's just an interview, not a contract with the devil. It is overwhelmingly likely that Sampson doesn't get serious consideration when Morey makes his short-list. It's possible he's got some patsies lined up for the first week to work out the kinks in his interview process. I won't get my panties in a bunch until people get invited back for second interviews.

I don't see what the big fuss is about. Sure he had some recruiting violations, but he still was a damn could coach (and could still be).
He took Oklahoma to the final four and the elite eight and won the big 12 four times. Their are a lot of worse hires out there right now (see Sam Cassell and Mike Woodson). The only problem that I see is lack of head coaching experience at this level, but surely him being an assistant coach can be a positive.

...and he did all that with only one NBA player his entire OU career, Eduardo Najera, and he wasn't even on that Final Four team.

After the way he left my alma mater, Indiana's storied program in shambles to which it has not recovered to this day, Sampson is public enemy no. 1 in my book. If the Rockets hire him, I will have to seriously consider becoming a Jazz fan in protest.

Sampson would be great. He was an awesome coach at Oklahoma, doing so much with so little talent. I really don't give a damn about recruiting violations...whatever.
