I believe he valued getting his national team to the world's/olympics more than an NBA championship...do you disagree with that?
Man, please don't make this perfectly nice thread about the difference between Miller and Yao into another endless YOF-YOH debate.
Deckard, are you in agreement with this person's views? please clarify. You ripped me for saying this person's views are uneducated. So I think it's a fair question to ask you. Do you agree with this person's views?
No he ripped you for being a bandwagon Yao fan who couldn't care less about the Rockets. Yao only fans have been on this site since he was drafted and are generally not liked by actual Rocket fans...you're a prime example of why they aren't...get it?
What is there for me to clarify? With all respect due, how can you call for Yao to play for another team on a Rockets fan site and not expect Rockets fans to raise absolute hell about it? I'd say you've come off easy. And with regards to what Severe Rockets Fan said, while I don't exactly agree with him, knowing the love Yao has for his country, the power those in the PRC have over him with regards to basketball, and that he couldn't have believed he would be injured as often and as severely (no pun intended, SRF!) as he has been and couldn't have thought those injuries would affect our chances to advance in the playoffs, or make the playoffs, much less win a championship, I do understand his sentiment towardsa Yao and his frustration. Everyone here is frustrated with Yao's situation. Everyone, including Yao. Again, you cannot call for the player who's considered the face of this franchise and our best player, when healthy, to sign with the Lakers for the MLE and pretend it won't piss people off. It makes you look rediculous, and a man in your position cannot afford to look rediculous.
Deckard, come on now. You ripped me for echoing what many posters here have been clamoring for! Trade Yao! Get rid of Yao! Anyway, I don't want to fight with you. I thought I made a reasonable criticism of this person's seemingly uneducated views, but I guess not. I'm done. Ok? Peace. Officially, as long as Yao remains a Rocket, I will root for the Houston Rockets and this organization, and even this site. You cannot rip me for having a favorite player in Yao nor can you rip me for wanting the best for him. That's what uh..fans do, right?
Took a while for me to figure that out, except that his handle has Yao's name twice. What's funny is the dude misreads a post and calls a guy uneducated and gets sore for being called on being a YOF, which he obviously is. Nice.
I think 'Bud'inger's stare is interesting there, too. Also the face showing in between Miller's towel and elbow, All kinds of non-normal
I'll acknowledge Miller is playing well for us recently. But that's not necessarily something good. If we are still relying heavily on Miller when we get half-way into the season, then I'm worried about the team. That means other stuff we tried has failed. We should be developing long-term solutions. Miller is 34 already. What happens when he gets injured or slows down even more?
Clutchfans, where players are as good as their last game. Talk about impact, how many games do you think we would have won with a healthy Yao playing 30 mins? With Brad Miller playing out of his mind at the moment we were 3-2 in the last 5. Common sense people, common sense.
Again, the question was about how both players help on the offensive side of the ball. Our record sucks because of the defense. We are currently ranked 7th in offense (which would be a better ranking than we've ever achieved since the 90s) and 26th in defense (really, really bad).
