honestly, you know what makes me nervous is our winning streak. 8 games is a great and all but they have come at the expense of the lower echelon teams. (with the exception of a team here and there). i just don't feel confident playing against the better teams in the league. like any team above us in standings.

i'm proud of the progress we've made, i just hope the win streak is not misleading and we really are gelling and becoming better.

that being said i would love to get our hands on mike miller, if possible.

this is exactly how i feel. people are just happy with wins against subpar teams. they don't realize how intense the western conf playoffs are going to be. how the heck are we going to play against suns (nash), dallas (kidd?), spurs (parker), utah (d.williams), hornets (paul) without a quality PG?

we don't have that good of role players to hide our weakness at the pg position. yes we got tmac and yao and we all saw how much that helps in the past playoffs. i dont want to sit here and watch luther choke.

Morey's no fool so it's certain he sees all the same weaknesses we do and knows we are going to be outmatched come playoff time.

So then either his hands are simply tied by Les with regard to being able to take on salary and upgrade the roster, or he is just going to wait until the season is finished and then make major changes this offseason, ie. move Tmac.

Alston is just a lousy shooter. He gets hot for part of a game, or for a few games, and then he reverts to form. Sam Cassell is slow as dirt now, doesn't have near the hops he once had, is nearly as old as Methuselah, but if he's healthy enough to get on the floor, he will simply kill you with his midrange game. He gets his shot off despite being his ancient, decrepent self. Alston wouldn't know a midrange shot if a midrange jumper hit him in the face. We don't need another Steve Nash. We need someone who can consistently make baskets as well as distribute the ball without turning it over... when Tracy isn't playing that role. James has turned out not to be what we hoped he'd be and Alston is a good backup point guard. We need something more. (but I could live with a Mike Miller! ;) )

you mean the rockets are a poor shooting "team".... head and james aren't playing, they're not contributing to our shooting... and we wouldn't be bringing lowry in for his shot, it would be for his speed and play making ability. he can get to the bucket, and he would bring a contract to town that is not hefty like james.

like many, as the team going into the final 30 games of the season, i'm just worried about our backcourt a little bit. since james is sucking and sf3 is no out, all of the sudden our pg position is thin now. unless brooks becomes another rookie sam cassell, we don't really have a legit backup pg. what are we gonna do if we do make it to the palyoffs? go with the van gundy route, i.e., luther head + some pg duties to mcgrady while play rafer 40+ minutes? we all know how that worked out...

on top of that, i'd like to see an upgrade in the backup 2 as a bonus or an insurance. and i've said this all along. i just can't trust luther in the offseason, considering he basically laid an egg last year.
