but it's not a clear upgrade. I like Dunleavy, but he has never lived up to his potential. IMO, Battier is the better player overall. If the trade were worked to only include exprings and Dunleavy were then positioned to be our sixth man, I could see it.

I wonder if it would be weird to wear my Landry Rockets jersey to a Pacers game if he were to sign there ;)

I think the Pacers would have to offer him significantly more than he is worth to have Morey let him go without matching.

Not that I don't think Larry isn't diligent in his research, but the fact that Landry's break out game came in Indianapolis could be why they figure he would do well there. I was at that game, Carl was a beast. He was the energizer bunny all over the court.

    A 19.1ppg season isn't good enough?

I would do a Dunleavy for Battier swap.

Dunleavy moves without the ball, which is something Captain Corner Camper does not do....

The pacers want Landry not only b/c he played at Purdue...

Recall the game of the Rockets @ Pacers...
The Rockets were playing terrible except Landry who was a monster. That enough probably opened their eyes!

In 20:26 he went 9/11 in FG, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 blocked shot for a total of 22 points. He did suck from FT that day at 4/8 (only 50%) and had 2 TO. Considering that he was a 2nd rounder rookie...those are some impressive stats. If I was Indy I would want him too.

    Also Dunleavy plays zero defense.

Scroll up two posts.. you and I had the same thought! ;)

GMTA. Since we were both at that game that is probably why it sticks out so much.

Yep...I will never forget that game. I was so mesmerized by Landry that I forgot I had a camera and didn't even take that many pictures.

Landry or no Landry we are going to get a big group of clutchfans members together and go see the Rockets against the Pacers.

not when the ppg comes on a bad team with no identity that forced Dunleavy to be more of a scorer than he really is.

Remember Mike James? What did his big season on a bad team translate to on a good team?

Mike James was one season removed from that season in Toronto. His year on the bench in Minnesota was a red flag that his basketball career was finally up.

.417 still isn't bad for a PF and they are open because he is too productive close along with having Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming.

Well I guess we weight good seasons on bad teams differently then, because I put little to no stock in Dunleavy's averages this past season. I like him as a player and even as a potential Rocket, but not at the expense of Battier. If I'm trading Shane, I want more in return.

Dunleavy is slow. We already go a player like him. His name is Steve Novak.

Nellie basically screwed Larry Bird. Harrington and Stephen Jackson for Troy Murphy and Dunleavy. Wow..just wow!

Murphy and Dunleavy do not want.

    battier vs dunleavy.

it depends on what you want, perimeter defense or perimeter shooting.

remember with yao & tmac, dunleavy will not have tons of touches he had in indiana. his stats will go down. at the end of season, all fans will complain whether it is worth to do it. well, on the other side, battier's defense doesn't depend on yao and tamc. his perimeter contribution can't be replaced w/ any players on rox roster currently.

i am not saying dunleavy is not good. i am against using battier to get dunleavy.

i don't get why ppl always think battier is a defense specialist only. battier can shoot, not just spot up. it happens rox asked him to put alot energy on defending the best player of other teams. if battier were allowed to be in dunleavy's position, i think his offense stats would be as good as dunleavy.

As much as I am a Thugleavy fan, I can't trade Battier for him. TMac+Thugleavy at the 2/3 would be a disaster on D.

Another thing that worries me about Thugleavy is that he just had the best year, by far, in his career. I don't know if it's a fluke or not... particularly his FG% and 3p%,

I glad you said that, cuz Dunleavy's numbers are very similar to Rudy Gay's.
